10 years ago, Canadian veteran RMS flew down to headline a show in Chicago alongside American drum and bass OG Jaybee. Discovering a shared background in hip-hop and turntablism, a friendship was sparked that led to a decade long creative partnership. That initial weekend long studio session in a freezing Chicago basement turned into years of online collaboration from this pair of producers who take huge influence from the late 90s era dnb. 

When RMS & Jaybee submitted their initial demos to Dispatch Recordings it was immediate that they would be the perfect artists for the Dispatch Blueprints series, which it celebrates the heritage sound of drum and bass. Blueprint 1 and 2 have been carefully crafted over several years and represent some of the pair’s best work to date. Whilst the flavour of each producer can be heard throughout each track, their styles gel to create a unique sound that elevates their music to new levels.

With these first two EPs, their music has found the perfect home and we're proud to present this exceptional pair of debut releases for Dispatch.

SUNANDBASS Recordings proudly presents its next release: the Funny How EP by BCee. Following his Shelter EP, we are delighted to share this "barrel of laughs" from our close friend. This EP combines BCee's humorous spirit with soul-infused, energetic beats, making it the perfect remedy to lift your spirits and chase away those Sardinian blues.

Steve BCee has been a close friend and part of the SUNANDBASS family for years. A regular in Sardinia with his Spearhead imprint, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, he returns with a record that explores the many shades of his signature sound while keeping things fresh and engaging.

The title track, ‘Funny How’, is a soulful, sample-driven roller that transports you straight to La Cinta. Next up, ‘Shiny Happy Jungle’ delivers exactly what the name promises, an energetic, break-heavy floor-filler. ‘Flush’ brings a modern twist, striking the perfect balance between musicality and upbeat dance energy. Closing the EP, ‘Nobody But You’ is a soulful, melancholy anthem that pulls at the heartstrings, showing BCee’s ability to navigate the full spectrum of emotion.

This EP is the result of a long-standing creative exchange between ArpXP and Was A Be – a process that unfolded over the years in a spontaneous, unstructured way, capturing the spirit of the moment rather than following a rigid plan.

These tracks are not the pair’s first collaborations; the two artists have been close friends for many years. Each piece was born in different circumstances and under different inspirations, but they evolved gradually, reshaped and fine-tuned through countless tests on the dancefloor.

ArpXP is among the first Italian DJs and producers to break into the international drum & bass circuit. Since the early 2000s, first with his project S.M.O.K.E. and later as a solo artist, he has released on iconic imprints such as Metalheadz and many more. He is also one of the driving forces behind the renowned SUNANDBASS Festival, where he curates the label SUNANDBASS Recordings.

Was A Be, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the most influential figures in the Italian scene. Known for his eclectic and boundary-pushing style, he has released music on some of the most respected labels in the game, including Subtitles, Critical, Shogun, Gutterfunk and Neosignal.
