E102 Says Hello!

I've been playing with the Spectral Multiband Resonator (SMR) from 4ms Pedals for a couple of nights. It's a really creative and patch-friendly multiband filter with six resonators.

Spectral Cycling

Here's my first recording of the E950 Circuit Bent VCO from Synthesis Technology. It's gated by the Cwejman RG-6 and pitch controlled by the E355 Morphing Dual LFO.

Two E350 Morphing Terrarium, also controlled by the E355 patched through the E102 Quad Temporal Shifter, is modulating the Morph X and Y independently on the E350's. They're tuned to a fifth and hard panned left and right.

The Kilpatrick K4815 Pattern Generator is playing an arpeggio like melody on the E340 Cloud Generator.

Everything is clocked by the ALM Busy Circuits ALM001 Pamela's Workout.

I've been playing around with Softube Modular for a little bit. I do have a 15U at 84hp custom Eurorack next to me, but this one's a lot easier to bring along.

The first thing I did, as I always do, was to patch a nice little bellish synth sound followed by a dreamy pad. I added them both together and voilá! A lullaby. My sons however fell asleep before it was ready - but they'll get to hear it tomorrow.

Of course I just had to add both B2 and Shimmer.

Softube Modular Says Hello

Earlier today I was thinking about a neat trick with the Intellijel Planar Eurorack module. I fed the E355's two LFO's phase shifted 180° to make the motion of the joystick resemble a circle. I then connected the two E350 (both XY and Z to fill the four inputs) to the Planar. Added some modulation via the E102 so the E350's were modulated at different times and I also tuned them in fifths. This trick could also be a form of hocketing the two E350's. An E950, modulated of course, was added for extra thickness.

I have a couple of modules which have "Cloud" or "Clouds" in their names. I thought I'd use them as creative as I could, but still make something melodic with it.

Here's the Synthesis Technology E340 Cloud Generator being slowly, and slightly, modulated by the E355 Morphing Dual LFO and then going through the Mutable Instruments Clouds, also being slightly modulated. The melody is actually the pitch (1V/oct) on the Clouds module and not the E340. Towards the end, I tweak the "Density" parameter of the Clouds to have fewer and fewer grains until it goes silent.

Patched a switcher so I could input on signal and use logic to determine which output it would be sent to, using the Logic Boss and a Roland AIRA EFX module. Sound source is the always so beautiful SynthTech E350. Actually two of them running through a modulated Rossum Morpheus.

Quick bounce using 8 of my SH-101 presets. Entirely ITB production with no added effects. Everything you hear is the Roland Cloud SH-101.

Just out of the blue, Softube released the Buchla 259e plugin for their Modular software. The 259e has been one of my favourite Buchla modules for an insanely long time hoping to finally get one for my Eurorack, but eventually ended up getting it for the Modular instead.

It's called "Twisted Waveform Generator" and it's for a good reason. I've tamed it in this demo, and multitracked two instances of Modular. One track is a pad consisting of no less than 4 (!) 259e while the second track is playing a melody with just one. I've called the lead sound "Mighty Cat Lead" because modular synthesisers and cats! Miaw. Just google it!
