Selection for my friends Thomass Jackson & Iñigo Vontier from @calypsorecs, which is a home for @plot_pilot music - my project with Tumosa.
Mix was inspired by the first gig after 8 months break at 313 Cable park in Palanga (shouts to all the dancers - you were amazing!), selected in the sky, while flying all over the Europe and finally finished in a small beautifull town of Deià in Mallorca. It contains lots of my favorite vinyls and some of the new digs - 
perfect introduction to the sounds you can expect to hear me playing this summer. Hope you’ll enjoy - see you soon in the dancefloors.

"From above Pernidis I can sense the sunglint phenomenon in two different water sinks. To the East I notice the swells of the Baltic and smell the gentle salty breeze. In the West I sense algae blooms and clouds of migratory birds feeding before they make their way south. The sound of music and the setting sun help me to expand my sight and the other four senses. I don't need binoculars, I don't need anything more than my sarong to sit and enjoy the show of a summer at Nida."

Author's  note:

Recorded on a sunny summer day in Nida, a small town in Lithuania seaside. My favorite place. I like to start the day with this recording - really calm and long intro is perfect to do breakfast. Slowly the mix evolves and nicely floats you into the day. That's my recipe for listening it. I'm surely do know you have your own. I hope it will be tasty.

This special Mousai Mix has been curated by @morta-mor/tracks and is a female identified creators mixtape. Raised by Berlin’s club and festival culture, Morta has brought elements of inspiration to her homeland Lithuania, where she started her DJ career over a year ago. Her sound is shaped by continuously nomadic lifestyle, which represents an interesting mix of influences: she is a lover of eclecticism that brings together downtempo, organic house with ethnic elements or trippy vocal loops, afro beats, melodic breakbeats and everything that doesn't fit into a frame.

Below is a personal note from Morta Mor, sharing her intentions behind this beautifully curated mix tape.

**Morta Mor x 'Female Identified Creators' Mousai Mix**

"After making a track list to my previous mixtape I realized that basically all tracks were produced by men. Which rather makes sense, as "only 7% of the users of Ableton Live are female. The actual number of women producing electronic music appears to be not much higher - only 9% of EDM is made up of women. Even on a local scale, women in electronic music are scarce.”(Study Breaks, 2019) 

There’s a huge gender gap that still needs to be addressed. To me, becoming a DJ was a political act, so I couldn’t do anything else but take upon a challenge to produce a 100% womxn produced mix, which is what you’re going to be listening to today.  

Identifying as female wasn’t the only criteria. I put extra time and effort to make sure I represent all the diverse beauty of womanhood from diverse backgrounds, not only in terms of ethnicity, but in terms of age and the spectrum of LGBTQA+ as well.  

Please do listen carefully, as it is also telling a story. It features over 20 brilliant female artists that are a huge inspiration for me. I hope it will be for you too." - @morta-mor/tracks

Mousai Mix #017 - Morta Mor [Geneva]

After seven years since this Dutch duo released their infamous “Attic edits EP”, Moiety & Manik are back. Voodoo Hoodoo is their brand new 3-track EP filled with psychedelic analog heat for dance-floors and tribal rituals. Each track tells its own story from voodoo scenes to deep water worlds. This EP won’t let itself be defined by genres, but the style can be described as percussion driven electronic music that will play with your imagination and take you on a trip.

We are happy to present you 3 remixes for our 6th release by Kraut, Hugh Mane and Mens Aperta.

Kraut, also known as Daniel Zuur, has been a staple in the Amsterdam club scene since 2009. He released on labels like Shika Shika, Wonderwheel Recordings, Metanoia, Cosmic Awakenings, Tropical Twista Records and The Other Eye. He has played at clubs/festivals like Sisyphos, Fusion Festival, Gardens of Babylon, Wildeburg, Marktkantine, Garbicz and Welcome to the Future

Hugh Mane has recently released an excellent remix for LOVE APE - ZEN REMIXED, which made us invite him back. We love his warm and groovy house style. He’s had releases on Harvey's Mercury Rising, Running Back, Adult Contemporary, Growing Bin, Ugly Music.

Mens Aperta (meaning Open Mind) is the techno alias for Moiety. The debut EP in 2019 was the first release on the label. Also new Mens Aperta releases are planned for this year.

Dressed in the pitch black of Düsseldorf stands Wolf Müller, master of the tropical drums and se- ven time Salon Des Amateur breakdance champion. Repping Cologne and Berlin is Niklas Wandt, Germany’s funkiest drummer and a mixed musical artist as adept in experimental jazz as demen- ted Euro dance. Standing toe to toe in a no holds barred, no drum unstruck groove contest, these two titans will make you swing your pants like a Crash Bandicoot victory dance...so stretch out and step in to ‚Instrumentalmusik von der Mitte der World‘.
Taking to their task with the joyful abandon of two big kids getting creative with the Kindergar- ten music tray, Müller & Wandt marry dripping electronics, Froesean pads and rubber-limbed basslines with tribal polyrhythms, C2 claps and Indonesian shakers - and that‘s only on the A1.
