Stones Traversed

Rocks hang together,
Maybe they converse.
Like people, feel each other.
To be examined, not just traversed.
	
And so we swim, one stroke at a time,
When swept away by tides of emotion,
When brought to heal by something potent.

The depths of the water,
Are luminous darkness,
Deep suffering and intense joy,
Experiences that mark us.

We also want to listen,
Feel layers of reality,
In the rush and flow,
That don’t seem to exist normally.

So we take our time,
Across the stones,
Leading from within, walking with people,
Where steps are chosen, rather than worn.
