Gonna post this before I can think too much more about it. 

Been sitting on this cover for MONTHS. I have always really admired the music of Korn, and I was immediately enamored with the version of "Freak on a Leash" performed with Amy Lee in the MTV unplugged set. I was fortunate enough to find the sheet music for it somewhere on the internet. Et voila.

Thank you, San Diego. 

I needed a break from all of the dramatic, dreary music from the "Hysteria" album. This song was just what I needed: sheer flirty fun. 

There are a lot of inspirations for this song. I started writing this in early December, and was listening to a lot of Imelda May at the time. The song was originally supposed to be "In the Army" (as a tribute to my sister and her boyfriend). But I encountered aesthetic problems with that; the word “army” is just not a pleasant-sounding word. “Military” is too long. And, truth be told, I was also listening to a lot of The Village People at the time. So, “In the Navy” it is. The swinging piano also was more evocative of oceanic current anyway. I’ve known a couple of Navy-men in my (admittedly short) time and, yes, they all have fucking filthy mouths; so, this is for them. Cheers.  

Yes, the album art is totally Tom Cruise from Top Gun.
