"Alphabeta" is an indictment on rappers that examines the idea of the extremes of being "Street" or "Woke", and how these personalities are channeled through the music industry, but to negative effect. In a deeper sense, the song questions Black men and their connectivity to their ideologies about manhood, where being "Street" is valued more for its currency than its culture, and being "Woke" is used as monetization than as a movement.

"Street Corners," chronicles the hope, anger and desperation of a man caught in an repetitious  cycle of watching friends come and go, and disheartened as he is in the same position and in the same neighborhood simply counting his hours. Reminiscing of a simpler time, the narration is a set around the feeling of escapism, watching as people around him, who were an integral part of his growth become victims of their decisions and the streets they inhabit.

Another day in the life, indeed. "Sleepwalking" takes the listener through the worrisome aftermath of a homicide that occurred earlier in the day and shows the neighborhood's speculative reaction to it. The narrator, vaguely familiar with the victim, recognizes the gossip and talking points as a source of entertainment for the inhabitants of the neighborhood; people who are themselves flawed yet attempting to pass blind judgment and make split-second assumptions about the dead. As much as the track highlights how dehumanized people have become by the loss of human life, the centralized point here is how everyone and everything can be a reflection of ourselves....And unfortunately people of lesser quality feel the need to make that comparison.

In a somber and more sadder tone, "Momma Knows" explains parental error, in how mothers that are emotionally ill-equipped for the job of motherhood inject their young male children with their own fears, insecurities, lowered expectations and lack of worldly experience, and send them out into the world to falsely learn how to live, learn and thrive as men.  Directly, I am referencing the inner city and some black mothers who are raising their black sons to be fearful of a world they're meant to conquer, some black mothers who create misoygnistic and self-hating prophecies in their sons while encouraging them to select women and wives with "good hair" or are "mixed with white," and some black mothers that reinforce the idea of an invisible ceiling that they we call "reality" that diminishes and discourages a young black man from developing a healthy imagination and from pursuing and achieving his truest version of self. Not all of the advice in this song is bad advice, but in the larger scheme of things it's all counterproductive. Please listen and enjoy.

Priest has performed in over 200 events in New York, been featured in such forums as AfroPunk, WordisBond, has opened for Apollo Brown & Skyzoo for the release of their album "The Easy Truth," and has independently released 3 albums, and garnered 400,000+ impressions for his last album entitled "Art of Urban Warfare." He has also and shot videos in Paris and Zurich, and toured all around Europe, performing at such venues as "Rap en Stadtpark" and "Rampe Open Air 2016," with songs featured in the Royal Arena festival in Switzerland. Heavily into the European Underground scene, Motownpriest regularly tours Europe, with legendary acts such as Jay Electronica, Edo. G, REKS, Cormega, Mr. Cheeks, and various Grammy-Award winning artists and producers such as Aftermath Records producer Fredwreck, and is continuing to travel and perform while at work on his 4th album.
