

DIG CURATED the infamous four of this EP in an omnivorous fashion, allowing vinyl
wizard Louis the 4th to take us on a ride of stylistic adventure between old and
new-school techno wickedry.

Olivia Mendez (the curator behind this EP) picked these gems according to the way
she would build her sets; each track corresponding to a distinct part of a blazing
journey. Each track being a different color on a powerful, vibrant palette, attesting to
the versatility of an artist whose emblem is anonymity - remember Detroit? - and
reinvention. The man behind the bandana doesn't shy away from paying homage to
the old school while at times enveloping us into a computerized sound chaos - classy
as it is.

This selection reveals a side of LTF that hasn't been shown before, catching the ears
of a great number of peeps, who could easily find their match here.

Dilatation is a chugging techno zinger, with a groove that feels minimal yet keeps
expanding through punctured breaks and urging synth enveloped into a sustained
air- a kind of tool that mounts the energy to near combustible.

Almost there decompresses space into a light-weight, energy saver atmosphere, that
fleshes out a brand-new compartment in LTF`s music wallet. Threaded through
driving rides and a rhythmic zeal, it wobbles gently between sustain and release.

On the flip side, Kurrikulum Vitae flexes LTS mechanics, with rascal shifts in a
groove that feels simultaneously ancient and totally new, amassing a depth of
textures and tones towards a skanking peak.

999 seals the deal with multilayered distortions enveloped into ghostly undertones
and reverbing crunches, half-step of being a techno-artefact and a dazzling sound
puzzle, made of a loopy melody edging towards poise.

An established veteran in the world of sci-fi techno, the Swedish-born, Berlin-based Staffan
Linzatti arrives on From Another Star with a long legacy of accomplishments behind him. A trio of albums on Axis, Field Records, and Modularz, plus singles reaching back to the mid-2000s on respected sources like Stockholm LTD, Synewave, and many others places Linzatti in a rarefied realm of producers strongly dedicated to this particular style. ‘Journey Out’ launches the EP with a tone-setting trip towards the stars, a steady sequence pushing outwards while zaps and mysterious cosmic radiation suggest ominous events approaching. A tentative arrival at ‘Line Base’ establishes an orbit, the kick circling woozy accents in the bass and set against layers of drifting ambience and static. A rhythmic experiment named after its meter, ‘Seven’ emphasizes its asymmetry with heavily reverberated, insistent percussion, a forward, lopsided bass figure, and shuffling drums underlaid by uneasy drones. ‘Those Hands’ employs a marimba-like melody at its center surrounded by an array of alien sounds and set to a steady four beat pulse with shifting accents. With slowly pulsing bass, intermittent bleeps, and a sweeping, hollowed out, sustained synthesizer invading its middle, ‘Drawn Towards the Center’ is all details, occasional tinkling hits suggesting motion in a nebulous drift. ‘Infinites’ reaches even further out, this time with added propulsion, decaying melodies, and dramatic pad intrusions, sure signs that Linzatti’s infinite explorations continue unabated.

Dro y Stepan Gusak abren su nuevo EP en Parallel Romance con “Alligator Alley”, un corte diseñado para la zona más física del techno actual. El track se construye sobre un low-end continuo y muy controlado, líneas rítmicas en avance constante y un uso inteligente de la tensión que evita los picos artificiales. Todo está orientado al peak-time, pero con una mezcla limpia y una ingeniería que prioriza claridad sobre saturación.

El groove, marcado por percusiones secas y modulaciones sutiles, mantiene un pulso hipnótico que funciona igual de bien en un club oscuro que en sets de gran formato. Sin buscar complejidad innecesaria, “Alligator Alley” es un ejemplo claro de cómo un track directo puede ganar fuerza a través de la estructura, la dinámica y la precisión en cada capa.

Una referencia sólida de Parallel Romance, y una muestra del lenguaje rítmico que Dro y Gusak siguen consolidando: techno funcional, musculado y sin distracciones.
