It was a relaxed edition as they played eclectic music from Jazz to Afro to Brazil and House as well as some of our favourite own releases of Sonar Kollektiv such as Shirley Turner’s - I Wish You A World Of Happiness (reissued this year, including a smooth alternative version from The KBCS & Nora Becker), Pete Josef, Feiertag and more.

Juergen von Knoblauch (Jazzanova) & DJ Amir from The Space in Between // 12-29-2023

Coming from a diverse and randomly mixed musical background, whether as bass player, producer or DJ – Magic Manfred always combines his multiple influences to complement one another and focuses on their common features instead on the differences.
His bass playing influences his DJing and the other way around. A big mutual factor in all his roles is his undeniable love for the Jazzfunk, Disco & Boogie of the 70s and early 80s.
Growing up in Berlin he made his first steps as a DJ spinning also Boom Bap, Detroit Techno & Chicago House which sometimes becomes noticeable in his sets.

The 1st annual Austin Record Convention Soul Summit??? Maybe... maybe not. Let's just see what the future holds.

Originally starting in 1981, ARC is the largest record convention in the U.S.A. The convention sees international DJs, collectors, and other music obsessives flock to the town of Austin, TX biannually for a 3 day weekend of some heaviest record digging in N. America.

While this may have happened in the past, or before my time living in Austin, I always wondered why there weren't any other events tied around the convention. With some of the biggest collectors in town, either to sell or buy or both, I really wanted to hear the heat they were pulling.

This trip I really wanted to collect some of my friends together so we could all share what we love. Thanks to MorningRemorse, Benny, SloLow Vinyl, & Lazerwolf78 for an incredible evening of some of the loveliest sounds around. All 45s, no tracklist!
