Back around 1992' I was working for a resort as mentioned on some previous tapes I posted here. This was way b4 the internet & it was a place where I met people from all around the world.
On this particular day, the customer's I tooked care were a Italian gay couple. They had a small boom box with them, & when one of the guys turned on the tape, I was like yo that's Frankie Knuckles jam 'When Rain Falls"!!! The other guy looked at me with his broken english saying "You know about House Music"???LOL
I was like actually...... after that long conversation, we agreed to trade some tapes. I got this tape & another one by the same DJ Fabrice. He was telling me how this DJ was italy's #1 Deep House DJ. In return I gave him a Farley "Jackmaster" Funk & Frankie Knuckles WBMX mixes. They lost it!!! You'll be hearing more of these stories as I met so many people. One being a super model who was telling me about her boyfriend Seb Fontaine of the Ministry of Sound, who I never heard of at that time. But I also gave her a Farley "JackMaster" Funk WBMX 1988 mixtape along with one of me & my 2 brothers on WPRK.
Anyhow, I hope you dig this as much as I did & still do now.

PELLEGROSSO is a Swedish native and citizen of the world. His travels in seek of deeper vibrations in nature brought him from Europe to Asia, and when he landed in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia a few years ago to teach at the School Of Audio Engineering, he hung out with members of the local scene and aboriginal tribes alike. These adventures sparked off a collection of music made while under the influence of Asia and all the music he has indulged on from his early teenage days making music on an Amiga 500 and organising acid house rave parties when he was merely 13 years old in his sleepy Nordic village.

After a DJ career spanning two decades, Henri Le Blanc made his production debut on UK super- label Midnight Riot in 2015, with an album of “percussive deep house warmth and balearic disco loveliness” (Junodownload).

For his latest offering, Le Blanc reworks some classic Brazilian material for Princely International, with "Ipanema By Night”, but as the title hints at, it’s not all sunshine and bikini bodies. 
The EP takes the listener on an imaginal journey into the shadows of Brazilian nightlife, beginning on the beach as the sun goes down with the swinging bossanova-meets-hip-hop of “Bae Bae Bae”, where an attractive stranger with an irresistible smile takes your hand and dances with you before inviting you for a drink at a nearby cocktail lounge “Rum at the Bar”, where the house band serenades you with a heady blend of psychedelic vocal harmonies, relentless jazz cymbals and heavy piano lines. The two of you then decide to take a stroll on the beach where the sound of waves hypnotically washing on the shore blend with a low-slung latin bassline, conga drums, teasing vocal grabs and a throbbing kick drum “Ipanema By Night”, setting the mood for some physical passion. However, just as you think it’s time to head back to the hotel, your new friend puts an unknown pill in your mouth and the next thing you know you’re in a jungle somewhere, half naked, body painted and dancing with figures that seem to be animal spirits, with the eerie, raw tribalism of “Narcotica”. To finish off the EP, label boss Nomsta/Muklofu comes correct with a sublime deep house reimagining of “Narcotica” that drops the listener back onto a shimmering late-night club dance-floor wondering if it had all just been a dream. 

These moody, somewhat understated reworks make for a somewhat introspective EP aimed at both beat-heads and fans of Brazilian music, and for the DJs, “Bae Bae Bae” provides a smile- inducing set starter, and Nomsta’s Remix of “Narcotica” covers the club deepness to a tea.
