New month, new podcast! This time we have @dangerdangerdave on the decks, hailing straight from Berlin (party) central. Dave and I led strange parallel-lives growing up in the same place (MG-Action town), and despite great overlap in musical taste and common friends, we only connected decades later. Besides being a chief vinyl-digger of German rarities, Mr DDD is 1/3 behind @extranosjuegos, a morning radio show at @callshopradio cultivating the mellowest vibes and runs the Malibu Spacy party in Berlin.

So, what's being cooked up for today? A vinyl-only mix composed of pure nuggets, featuring 80's synth pop, early 90's adult-movie house and some (to my best knowledge) jazzed-up & italo-esque boogie, guaranteed to work well with your extended Sunday morning breakfasts or your early afternoon Chilcano. Good Block have been throwing parties in and around London for the past six years. Nomadic and sporadic in form and function, their parties are centred around danceable odd-ball gems and have hosted the likes of Jamie Tiller, Jon K, Esa, John Gomez, Nick The Record, Selvagem, Africaine 808, Bradley Zero, DJ Okapi, Jonny Rock, Apiento, DJ Vegetable and Cosmic Slop.

After a series of DJ friendly edits issued gratis, Good Block finally put out their first fully fledged EP of original material; a composite soup of influences and styles from around the Orb, trekking through slow jungle chug, cosmic Caribbean Juno jams, Japanese synth pop snares and New-Age meanderings.

Receiving early support from the likes of Antal, Jamie Tiller, Esa, CC: Disco!, Ruf Dug, Brian Not Brian, John Gomez, DJ Nomad and Apiento.

Being open minded in it's truest sense means breaking up misconceptions of things being mutually exclusive on a daily basis. 

John Zahl a.k.a. JAZ has been one of our favorite DJs and edit makers for a while now and we thoroughly enjoyed his impeccable taste that traverses through sleazy disco, breezy balearics and sometimes downright weird electronic stompers. 

He's mission is spreading the messages of love, unity and complexity of human predicament through his music, and also as a priest through teachings of the Scripture; as perhaps one of the coolest cats the Episcopal Church ever had in their ranks. We might be a little biased there, but we really feel all the vibes John conveys to us through our common medium that is music; proving once more that it can be the perfect and universal communication tool, no prerequisites required. 

Wherever your beliefs lie, you know love is the message.

Rain and sea

The consistency and relentlessness with which Florian Stöffelbauer is managing to produce high-quality output in all sorts of different domains and modalities is almost unbelievable. 

For one, he is co-founder of the outrageous “Neubau” imprint which has been releasing consistently forward-thinking music since as early as 2015. He also co-runs the fantastic YouTube channel “Basic Rhythm”, which makes him (at least partly) responsible for the recent wave of Stefan Egger resurrections. Flo also ran a party of the same name (most of which happen in Vienna but with one “away-game” in London) and he was furthermore behind the retailer “Discus Throwers”, selling tapes and vinyl from his home-base in Vienna. Last but not least, he is a killer D.J. going by the name of “Heap”, an alias under which he has recently done recordings for Tim Sweeny’s Beats in Space Radio as well as the infamous Dekmantel-Podcast series.

With all of this greatness under his belt at the tender age of 26, one can only imagine where Florian is going to take his talent and dedication in the future. For 5918mins., he bangs out a mix that left both of us speechless and in awe. It is a mix as relentless as his consistent greatness, with almost two hours of killer after killer after killer. Flo weaves together a variety of tracks defying standard genre-classification, with the right dose of humour, meta-commentary through lyrics and a feel for the unpredictable. We can only say thanks to Flo for providing us with this absolute high-light of a mix and wish him all the best in his endeavours to come.

Needing little introduction they're hosts of their own podcast series which provides multi-genre mixes from selectors all over the world. They're also a DJ collective based in Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Potsdam. Although separated, they get together to deliver rare and unconventional grooves for the dancefloor or during their residency show on Test FM Radio. @testfm_radio

Meanwhile here, the full trio take us on a wobbly trip of goodness beginning with downtempo before the mix speeds up to uncover its eclectic dancey side full of house jams! Enjoy! :)
