BATUQUE is the rawest form of the expressivity, where human relations were formed and all that was felt was passed on accurately. The speech couldn't find words but the explosiveness of the sound echoes in the silence and touches us in an inexplicable way. In this EP São Paulo's Vazquez exposes his expectations in search of collective responses, just like the fishermen who hit the boats in hopes that the fish would jump in.

Ang is a painter and DJ currently living in New Haven, CT. Their practice has recently been thinking about sensory unfoldings and body recalibrations across the spaces of abstract painting and electronic music, as well as the sociocultural and economic backdrops of musical diasporas and affects. They co-founded AYI AYI, a Brooklyn-based fundraising party series that centers AAPI femmes/queers and distributes funds to local QTPOC and migrants in the NY area. This year they also co-produced an EP, "Mirrorvision," with Brooklyn artist Devoye (shout out last track!). Thank you XOXA for having me!!
