We have no doubt that the closing of our upcoming event is in good hands with a versatile artist like Biri behind the decks. This trust is much deserved as he has crafted his skill to seamlessly morph between different moods and energies for more than 10 years. Both as a DJ and producer his efforts didn’t go unnoticed which has resulted in impressive achievements so far. Nevertheless, we have the pleasure to welcome him for his first appearance in the Netherlands under his solo project, so it is certain he will make it one to remember.

For this occasion Biri recorded a special mix to get the energy going. Opening with a calm and meditative state of mind he gradually progresses to the club-heavy sound we are eager to embrace on the 15th of July.

Ninety Three Collective invites JEANS @ GIMIC - 11 April 2025

Last year, Osaka based artist Rei shared a deep ambient mix with us. He  returns this time with a powerful ambient techno mix, finding harmony between steady rhythms and irregular ambient textures, valuing clarity of sound.

Rei listens to the world from both micro and macro perspectives “Even the sound of water falling from leaves sounds different depending on whether it’s a big creature like an elephant or a small creature like an ant,” he says, showcasing a sensitivity to scale and storytelling through sound. Themes of harmony and coexistence flow deeply through Rei’s work. “The grandeur and beauty of nature, and its coexistence and harmony,” he shares, are central to his compositions.

In this latest mix for SKIN, Rei invites listeners to be carried by the expansive sound and lingering resonance. He wants you to bask in the afterglow and embrace the emotional depth of the music.

While Rei continues to create from his home base, he humbly hopes to one day travel, gathering sounds from around the world and sharing his music in new places.

Amsterdam-based DJ and producer PARADIGM X presents his new Heat Intruder EP
on PARDON Recordings, the label run by DJ and Producer EYCEE. Known for his
genre-fluid approach- blending house, techno, and high-energy breakbeats -

PARADIGM X pushes his hybrid club vision forward across this four-track release.
The title track ‘Heat Intruder’ was inspired by a night at Garage Noord, as PARADIGM X explains: The idea came after an inspiring club night where DJs were mixing so many kinds of genres - particularly in Bar40. After the club, while biking home and standing on the ferry, I felt inspired to blend those influences myself. Especially after an extended period of solely producing house. Since I’d heard a lot of rhythmic influences that night, I experimented with adding my own twist to that energy. The nod to the iconic track ‘Partycrasher’ by DJ Chuckie became the cherry on top, tying everything together.”

The EP showcases three distinct reinterpretations: a club-driven, shape-shifting remix by EYCEE; a bouncy, percussive UK-Funky take from Kaval; and a uniquely rhythmic rework that only Styn can deliver. Together, they push the OG track into fresh territory, each offering its own bold new direction.

The 8th instalment of our podcast series comes from special guest Jephta. 

Jefta Wattimena also known as Jephta is a Dutch DJ based in Rotterdam, who is also a resident of the Embodiment organization- a rave that is fueled by the vision of people who are dedicated to the dance floor. A vision in which both the DJ and the dancers are pushed to the very limit to create the most intense and cohesive vibe during the night. With a solid concept, dedicated residents and a successful event at Perron, they proved to be an integral part of the underground scene in Rotterdam, which is very refreshing to the current state of the underground music scene.

Jephta is an up and coming artist, who quickly established himself in the local scene after playing at events like Orphic in Amsterdam and Extended in The Hague. His undeniable talent and intelligent approach to selection and mixing were quickly recognized, which led him to playing bigger events such as Reaktor alongside artists like Lobster and Comrade Winston, Anthony Linell, Planetary Assault Systems, Bjarki, and Oscar Mulero. 

For Jephta electronic music is a way of expressing oneself and escaping reality. Its a moment where he can let go of the worries and stress of the day-to-day life and feel peace, anger or any emotion he needs to feel at that moment. As he is a passionate dancer and clubber himself, Techno is just the perfect match. 

Characterized by hypnotic, trippy and experimental sounds in his sets and heavily influenced by artists and labels like Drumcell, Ancient Methods, Northern Electronics and Posh Isolation, Jephta’s main goal is to make people feel the music he plays, which is often a selection of diverse sub-genres mixed in a smooth and consistent set. Driven by the values of techno culture and his own experiences, he wants to offer the audience an opportunity to establish a connection or simply set their emotions free and enjoy the dance floor while sharing the happiness with the ravers around. A soundscape created by Jephta means a full mind and body experience.  

He recorded this set for us at his home in The Netherlands, and you can expect a very consistent deep journey with just the right amount of melancholia, which progresses into a heavier more dancefloor oriented mood.
