After all this time renegading and hiding in the dark, I'm releasing a mix. 

Made manically in the early morning hours, this is far more on the emotional spectrum than my usual style of dark techno/breaks/dnb, but it does not compromise my soul.

Thank you to the baddest female I know, Grey Skies, who inspired this by a challenge that was probably way more profound and insightful than she may even know. I found my on duality by her challenging me to make a mix inspired by the tarot card, "the emperor."

Prismatic | Reflections of The Emperor | 8.31.21

Prismatic is a multi-faceted DJ and producer from Michigan that creates sets from emotional narratives of inner-healing  through psychedelic, primitive, dark, ethereal, and sinister soundscapes with a focus on combining deep house, techno, and drum and bass. 

Growing up in Chicago, she was influenced heavily by a club scene dominated by trance and deep house. She spent her youth as a classically and jazz trained musician, who had the honor to co-conduct at a young age for the Chicago Junior Symphony, and found her self inspired by the sound of the city. 

After moving to Michigan, she became involved in the underground music scene, where she became influenced by the powerful rhythms of resistance through Detroit Techno and Drum & Bass. 

Integrating the two worlds she grew up in, as well as her Vedic Ancestry, and love for psychedelic rock as well as jazz, she uses the rhythms that resonate within her soul as a force of love. 

Her style incorporates her vast musical knowledge, implementing anything from sounds in nature, to mantras, to jazz, noise to speeches… or whatever inspires her. 

Starting her journey in 2020, her impressive first year has started in Michigan’s underground scene by playing for large crowds in the underground festival scene, and has lead her to playing alongside acts such as Terrence Parker, Ernesto, and CLB with praise from established artists alike. She has collaborated with artists in Cincinnati, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Chicago. 

She is currently working on creating a new solo project, that she is extremely excited to share brining her own produced sound inspired from how her own musical journey has helped her overcome depression by bringing her to feel empowered by love.
