2024 marks the beginning of a new project for Alderaan: Decay Of Reason. This is a label focused on abstract, dark and atmospheric techno. With clear influences and a more minimalist approach than his other works, Alderaan presents 'Bauhaus EP'.

This three-track release features a defined and dense aesthetic. Throughout the three cuts you can hear a work that is dedicated not only to being functional techno for the dance floors, but also has the intention of captivating the listener from the first beat.

Alderaan - Bauhaus EP [DOR001]

Twenty-three years on from its original release, the debut album of American artist Mike Parker stands proud as a blueprint for deep, hypnotic techno in the new millennium. Originally published as a CD-only edition on Parker’s own Geophone label, Field Records are now giving Dispatches the first full vinyl release it so richly deserves - spread across six sides and reproducing Parker’s distinctive artwork at scale. A stealthy classic spoken about in hushed tones by techno connoisseurs - this new edition should gain the wider recognition it rightly deserves. 

Charting the course of Parker’s career reads like the evolution of deep techno itself - moving from early collaborations with Donato Dozzy to appearances on seminal labels such as Prologue, Semantica and Spazio Disponibile. The essence of his approach was forged early on, honing techno’s propulsion into a raw essence without losing any of the weight. It’s an exercise in minimalism, but the sound is still monolithic and engulfing, crystal clear in its intention and devoted to the power of subtle pressure. When the decay on a reverb opens up a fraction, Parker’s music leaves enough space for you to notice. Incremental shifts become monumental in his hands and his commitment to subliminal layering reveals hidden depths the further you submit to his hypnotic sound. 

This definitive edition of Dispatches looks at the vinyl singles which accompanied the album’s original release and creates a more complete picture of the area that Parker was exploring at the time. It’s the first time that the alternate take of icy depth charge ‘Copper Variations: CV1’ appears on wax, as goes for the pneumatic tension of ‘Reduction’ and evocative miniature sound sculpture ‘Blue Equals Black’. Expanding the album beyond its original CD form, epic rarity ‘Dissolution 99’ presides over the final side, while the standout Voiceprint release is now represented in full with the inclusion of heavyweight stepped techno workout ‘Voiceprint: Voice Two’. 

Able to sustain his own creative vision without cowing to the trends or expectations of any scene or clique, Parker’s music has progressed on its own terms. What this reissue demonstrates is how fully formed his vision was - even at a relatively early stage. In an era where the deep techno scene is thriving, Dispatches feels all the more relevant, undiluted by time and still unmatched in its immersive perfection.

We're very happy to finally share with you our first release of 2016 as we bring our second Italian artist onto EarToGround. 

'Ness' also known as Andrea Deplano first caught our attention with his seminal track 'Neuronic' with came out late 2014 on Pole Group. Soon after work started on a full Ep for EarToGround. 

Tracks included have been specially made for the release and each individually display his excellent dynamic range, sound design and unique take on Techno. 

It has has been tried and tested in the best situations possible with excellent crowd response throughout. You will find a place in a set for all the tracks inside.

Being played and supported by the likes of: Marcel Dettmann, Answer Code Request, DVS1, Dax J, Boris, Stephanie Sykes, Gareth Wild, Chris Stanford, Pfirter, Emmanuel, Ben Sims, Truncate, Etapp Kyle, Sigha and Peter Van Hoesen...

Dreiklang Records set sail in February 2016 with the excellent First Contact EP which featured OCH, Hydergine and Kelovolt, three singular artists each handing in their own contrasting take on the same source material. The Berlin-based vinyl-only label now returns with the same concept for the Loop Continue EP. For their second release Dreiklang call upon three strong figures of the techno scene, each displaying a highly distinct voice in keeping with the triangular concept of the label: Scottish veteran Edit Select and Italian purveyors of everything dark and deep, Dino Sabatini and Claudio PRC.

The three tracker kicks off with the deep sub-aquatic sounds of Tony Scott aka Edit Select, who produces the original version of Loop Continue, an introspective DJ tool. The Scottish producer goes straight to the point from the very start with a dusky loop that is slowly overcome by a glistening, luxuriant drone.

Claudio PRC hands in a stunning rework. A hypnotizing bass drives the track forward while tranquil chords ease in and out of focus.

Finally, Dino Sabatini, a regular collaborator of Edit Select, drops in fresh from the release of his Omonimo LP. The Outis Music boss closes the EP on a dreamy piece of broken-beat where beautiful glowing drones command attention.

Loop Continue is set for vinyl-only release June 14th on Dreiklang. The records will come as a 180g vinyl with handmade covers by Nils Atland, limited to 500 pieces.

DSC is enjoying its most productive year to date, and its not even half way through. Cliche Morph is a mysterious new entity, debuting with Liquid Materia. The title track melts streams of melody, chords dissolve in currents as a steady thump tries to tame the sonorous swash. Claudio PRC, of Prologue fame, interprets the tides of the original. Aquatic ambience floods speaker as sounds are kept below the waves in a dream state. “Impulse Inside Mechanism” pulls you further into the haunted machinery of Cliche Morph. Wraithlike harmonies ache, ghosting between steady percussion for a work of palpable emotion. That tactile quality comes to the fore with “Alternative Solution.” Rhythms are given extra girth, bass lines given extra room as strings swim before they soar.
