This was a project by Pulse Soundworks in collaboration with Eve Oh, Priscillia Xavier (Me) & Rebecca Yau for WAO on the issue  of violence and abuse towards women.

This is an upload that's 3 years too late, heh. I found this track in my old computer's hard drive and I remembered that I (epic-ly) forgot to share this on Soundcloud. So, here it is.
(Takin' the saying "better late than never" to a whole new level.)

I had so much fun recording this in the studio, as this was, pretty much, my first ever experience recording a track. (I start the song, whee! =D)

Finally found some courage to upload an original song. Eeks!

I wrote this one a little over 2 years back; about all the lovely little things that just seem to...fall into place when you're getting to know someone special.
Kinda like seeing the world in technicolour...every little thing is made more meaningful.
Yeah...you KNOW what I'm talking about. *winks*

In short, this to me, was how falling in love felt like. =)

That being said, this is literally my FIRST and probably the ONLY legit 'lovey-dovey' song. =D

About the song:
I come from a pretty over-protective upbringing, what with being Indian and having conservative parents, which I love to bits! But with that, I've always felt afraid to venture out on my own, to try new things, to be alone. To own being different. But these were all things I wanted to do. I wanted to be in a constant mode of self-discovery, I want to be able to satiate my curiosity wherever it takes me.

Anyway, this song is about wanting to break-free, from all THAT, and to just go out there, and do all the things you want/need to do regardless of whether or not you feel scared doing them. It's about wanting to conquer fear. It's about living exactly the way you want to. =)

Hey Souncloudies! Here's a little something I did at The Actors Studio for a Live Recorded show. :)

This song is called "Hello".

About the song:
I initially wrote this song in the perspective of a Busker (back when I first started busking, about 2 years ago), I wondered if people passing by or stopped felt connected to the music they were hearing, and thus that's why they stopped.

But the overall message of the song is about finding that special kinda connection. We generally think that the special kinda connection is one that just..happen. But I personally feel, magic only happens when you whole-heartedly AND intentionally put yourself out there, regardless of whether or not it scares you. Whoever receives it after that and does the same in return is what serendipity is all about. =)

Canyon

Canyon - Melissa Toh & Priscillia Xavier (Original)

A dreamer, a lover and a soulful story-teller; 3 things that best describe this talented songstress.

Priscillia Xavier has been into music since the age of 11, where she timidly started out as a back-up singer and then, the acoustic guitarist in church. 
Her love for music only grew from then onwards.

The inspiration to pick up guitar started from her dad, who used to play her plenty John Denver songs and the Evergreens as a kid. It was not long after that she decided to teach herself to play the guitar with her Dad’s old beaten classical one. 

The rest, as they say it, was history. ;)

Since 2010, Xavier has been doing music professionally as a LIVE performance artist, Singer-Songwriter and a Busker. 

She has also been involved with several shows hosted by KLPac & The Actor Studios as one of their featured Singer-Songwriters in the past years.
