BIO:
Rose Ringed was born to a music loving father and a jazz ballerina mother, during the early trance rave era of the 90s. Playing the drums led unto learning piano, getting inspiration from what is now the nostalgic sounds of the ambient and early techno parties in Amsterdam.

His first EP 'Spring Memories' became an instant success after its release in 2018, when Kölsch played 'In Your Arms Again' during his BBC Radio 1 show. It marked the moment from which Rose started to be recognised internationally and streaming numbers increasing on a daily basis. Since then, Rose has not looked back and has built up his portfolio with numerous releases out, and many more in the pipeline, that take you on a dreamy journey of bliss.

Combining melancholic self-deprecating lyricism with an expansive synth-pop soundscape and vocals that swing from a seductive whisper to a heart-wrenching howl; Hythe sings of violence, addiction, and unrequited love from a spooky town in the dark heart of Essex. The forthcoming collection of songs passes the listener a strong shot of heartache and drags them along for joy rides on dirt bikes on hot nights with bad boys who give out love bites at first light.

Closed Eyes Recordings delivers stories through sound. With these stories, we want to create an impactful experience for our listeners. We believe meaningful stories help you guide you through the highs and lows in life. Stories like this are the most valuable for us in a piece of music. It’s this music that makes you close your eyes and experience the most beautiful thing in life: being.

What we aim for
Closed Eyes Recordings releases only those records resonate with your deeper feelings. We aim to release an artist’s most personal work; music that has a deeply special meaning for them. This could be a passed away loved one, an exciting memory of their youth or any other meaningful feeling or thought they get when listening to their work.

In our vision, the only valuable criticism stems from the feeling a record evokes among its listeners. Those who try to single-handedly evaluate music by rationally overanalysing it, miss the purpose of music itself: extricate emotions.

What we look for
The sound should never be perfect because life isn’t perfect itself. 
We love raw, vintage and imperfect sounds, and yes we are suckers for the melody. Unexpectedness is key within our sound and we prefer simplicity over complexity. Music is a feeling, not an equation.
