“'Promesses Vol. 1' is the first compilation of the label including 30 tracks by 40 different artists from all around the globe. Promesses’ founders built this release as their DJ sets with the aim of putting forward recent musical hybridizations from club anthems to etherial interludes. World Canvas Mix 13 comes from UK-based artist Burning Pyre (Chris Owen). Having released albums and pieces of music on labels such as Opal Tapes, Eastern Nurseries and Perfect Aesthetics, Owen has  crafted a graceful approach to minimalistic ambient works with a sense of beauty in synth melodies intercutting with pop-inclined motifs and fragments.

The first full-length collaboration between Burning Pyre and Canadian Rifles, “The Snipe & The Clam” encapsulates a shared sensibility and vision. Initially seen together on the Vienna Press/Vaagner compilation “A Declaration” in 2019, which was followed up with a second piece last year on Burning Pyre’s Opal Tapes debut, “United Angels”, the two artists cultivate a unique aural world with a singular voice.

Taking a contemporary yet deeply romantic approach to ambient music, “The Snipe & The Clam” showcases a blend of luscious synth melodies and harmonics, set against a heavily organic dynamic backbone. An apt representation of both artists’ methods and modus operandi, opulent glimmering drones flow with a sense of narrative, contributing a magical watercolour-like quality to the album’s eight instrumental pieces. As if lightness met the restraint of a disciplined wrist - every sharp note a pensive flap of wings across its airy background.

“The Snipe & The Clam” often feels like an emotional exercise on the stoppage of time, gliding between loving gestures and precise crescendos, delivering both a flourish of exposition and a reflection on intimate moments. A definitive summit in each respective artists’ discographies until this point, “The Snipe & The Clam” is an elegy to tenderness and finding beauty in minute details.

pol100 ‘Sepsis EP'

pol100 is an alias used by Italian producer Paolo Maiarelli. Maiarelli is originally from Ferrara, a small city located in the north of Italy. Inspired by the likes of Arca, Rabit and Lee Gamble among others, it has been four years since he started to create music under the pol100 moniker. During this period he developed, what he calls, a more personal sound that can be heard on his previous releases ‘ANOTHER FINE DAY’ and ‘PLAGUE EP’ released on respectively Elastica Records and Du Couer Records. His latest work ‘Sepsis EP’ will be released on Bound Centre and introduces us to a new chapter in Maiarelli’s work. The complex mix between Ambient-like audio engineering and break/bass heavy electronica is conceived from his research into the idea of sound over structure and is based on the four symptoms of septic shock. On basis of these four symptoms Maiarelli created a listening experience that transcends conventional forms of arrangement and sound design and forces the listener to take a deep dive into the concept and physical consequences of the disease.
