"After a first appearance on the compilation 'Promesses Vol. 2', the enigmatic Negro Dinero present his debut album 'Isotopia'. The result is 8 experimental mental club tracks somewhere between dembow, techno, ambient, reggaeton, merengue and field recordings. In the musical aspect of this project, the deliberate action that Negro Dinero undertake is the reframing and rescuing of symbols, codes and rhythms from the musical Afro Caribbean lore. Jointly, these are combined with modern and futuristic forms, such as electronic music and digital media.

Isotopia is a new project for a country. A solution to all the problems the modern world brings. A neocommunist techno state, where people are required to work in agriculture. All forms of discrimination and hate are eliminated through novelty (patented) spiritual-psychological technologies.

As any utopia project, Isotopia is a way for Negro Dinero to explore the limits of a system. It is the encapsulation of his critical view of institutional western culture, that is based on the inheritance of colonialism, accelerationist capitalism, a self-centered view of the world based on history written by a few and the subsequent alienation caused by these diseases. All postures are influenced mainly by a working class and immigrant point of view."

Born In Flamez double single ‘Play’ presents a ferocious claim for dissent bodies in the form of two relentlessly queer anthems. Known for their experimental and enigmatic approach on identity expression, with ‘Play’, Born In Flamez delivers an uncompromisingly sensual revision of a crunk classic and a banging collaboration with the cross-border performance artist Muxxxe.

Originally conceived as the soundtrack for a multidisciplinary performance involving physical expression, censorship, transformation and plastic waste, ‘This is what my body says’ depicts a call for body liberation upon the decline of the world, the collaboration with the masked artist from Tijuana ‘Muxxxe’ bounds together a feeling of distinctive tenacity that comes along with queer emancipation.

With xenomorphic atmospheres, heavy mechanic percussions and alienish echoes the EP constrains the most redemptive side of Born In Flamez in the form of two unapologetic and futuristic rap pieces.

For the first output of an ongoing exchange between East Africa and East Asia via collectives Nyege Nyege/Hakuna Kulala (Kampala - Uganda) and SVBKVLT (Shanghai – China), we are excited to present ‘Slip A’ and ‘Slip B’, two Eps made during Slikback’s China tour/residency in April 2019.

After making first contact online in late 2018 and subsequently meeting up at CTM festival, Berlin, in January 2019, Nyege Nyege and SVBKVLT founded the beginning of a long term project exploring collaborations between East-Africa and East-Asia based artists.

For the first stage of the project, SVBKVLT invited Kenyan producer Slikback to China for a 3-week tour and residency in April 2019. During these 3 weeks, Slikback performed in 5 cities (Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Beijing), spending time in the studio with artists throughout the tour. The results of these studio sessions are now being presented in the form of two Eps, to be released simultaneously across the two labels Hakuna Kulala and SVBKVLT on September 6th, coinciding with Nyege Nyege Festival 2019, Jinja – Uganda, at which Slikback and 2 of the collaborators, Hyph11e and 33EMYBW, will perform.

‘Slip A’

The first EP, entitled ‘Slip A’ consists of 3 collaborations with SVBKVLT artists 33EMYBW, Osheyack and Yen Tech. Started in China and then finished remotely between Nairobi and Shanghai, the 3 tracks each find their place right in the middle of the artists styles, each track complimenting but twisting each others sound into something new. ‘Slip A’ will be released via Hakuna Kulala on September 6th 2019.

Following her breakout EP, SiS, Jasmine Infiniti returns with thirteen disruptive club tracks fit for the The Infernal Ballroom. On her meticulously-crafted debut LP, she conjures occult rave incantations with sub-tectonic bass and spectral, seductive harmonies. Audaciously championing R&B, vogue and hip-hop sounds, Jasmine Infiniti’s latest collection of techno-hybrid dance tunes is bound to be the new soundtrack of NYC’s queer underground nightlife. 

Where SiS was an ode to queer solidarity, community and sisterhood, BXTCH SLÄP is as much about personal myth-building as it is about claiming individual space as a queer person. 

BXTCH SLÄP is cunt, unflinching and uncompromising, but it also boasts surprising range—moving briskly between ethereal hardcore house (“HOTT”), the anxious pounding of dark electro (“SPOOKED”), and certifiable techno bangers (“YES, SIR”, “WELLFAIR”). Meanwhile album standout “<3” hovers just above 100 BPM, a defiant statement of sensuality, calmness, and euphoria that’s no less gripping for its dramatic deceleration. Closing number “SHONUFF” clocks in at ten and half minutes; not a second of this adrenaline-rush of an acid techno tune feels wasted. BXTCH SLÄP might be most appropriate for the club, played at dangerously high volumes, but this music certainly takes on a new life after hours, in the moments we spend between the parties, alone and full of desire. 

The Queen of Hell is back and her powers are stronger than ever.
