Produced since 1964, the venerable Porsche 911 has become one of the most iconic sports cars in history – a universal symbol of speed, power, and elegance. But what does this mean for your sound library? The answer is familiarity: this car is so embedded in the public consciousness that it can easily stand in for a range of similar vehicles, real or fictional. This is truly a “desert island” car library.

This 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera delivers all of the excitement, power, and grace you would expect from a renowned high-performance sports car. This comprehensive workup includes exterior, interior, and onboard recordings of various maneuvers at different speeds. About half were recorded with a blown muffler for a gritty, growling character. For the rest, an aftermarket exhaust was put on, yielding a more controlled sound. The library also includes a selection of Foley and miscellaneous sounds including door opens and closes, gear shifting, and horn sounds.
