The beginning of an idea, when I first played around with stretching of samples and exploring the artefacts that were left; I discovered a beautiful chaos in which the sample never would've been heard as before.

BREAKDOWN: 

The lo-fi feel is instantly placed by a vinyl crackle that can be heard from the first moments. As a drawn out, industrial sounding boombox drum loop begins, a police siren can be heard floating somewhere within the listeners atmosphere. 

As it gently fades, the emotion builds, with layers of reverb and a gentle delay on the impact, an almost wobbly sound, as the track enters its main stage; a flickering, filtered and reverb heavy sample... backed with a lo-fi hip-hop style drum scene and a periodic groove bass.

A piano quietly erupts and plays a more immediate appearance of the entire sample, before slipping away after only a moment, shifting the listener back into the gentle ambience of the track.

Another transition appears, softer than the first, no impact but a definite change in pace. The sample is stripped down to engage only the trumpet which can be heard playing the melody gently, as though not wanting to be heard. But of course, a trumpet is an instrument that is to be heard nevertheless. 

The trumpet dissolves and the ear is returned to the cozy, familiar memory of the main melody, which is slowed to reach an almost docile state until it is awoken by the wobbly impact as the song returns to its complete state to finish up with a drawn out tape stop finish.
