In a lot of ways this song is about ego. The pride that leads to our comeuppance. When our ego is bruised we lash out. I was angry for years. I was just reading something about how women are always presented as more emotional than men but only because as a society we don’t seem to to qualify anger and impatience as an emotion. Men are emotional as hell, it’s just that anger is usually the go to one as its seemingly acceptable. I was angry because I was depressed, anxious, felt inadequate, wasn’t where I wanted to be, was covered in bed bug bites and sleeping on the floor of someone else’s house. Even when I finally got out of 59th and Locust for a bit and was staying in the burbs it was still on someone else’s floor. And I got kicked out of there too. After a few weeks on my friends’ couch in north (shouts out to Tommy and Pat) it was only a few months back on 59th before me and HBC would find our own crib. I finally felt like I had some control of my life but I still had a long way to go. I was in the process of kicking Xanax and stole all the safe to drink robitussin out of my job to get myself off of a lean habit. Sleeping on a mattress on a floor of a closet sized room. I still had no control over myself which is where all of this begins and ends. I got punked. Walking home from a bar someone almost hit me with their car going the wrong way on a one way. I snapped on them. They hopped out and weren’t down to fight. They flashed a strap and I had nothing, I took the L. That moment changed me because it damaged my pride. More so even than the first time I lost a fight. I took precautions to make sure I would never get caught like that again. I started snapping on everything. Almost getting my girlfriend at the time kicked out of her house because of how I pulled up on her land lord. Mistakes and trauma can make us overcompensate for what we lost. I thought I was taking more control of my life but in all reality I was losing more control of myself. I almost ruined my life trying to control it until I finally did. Something has to be broken to be put back together and I’m still picking up the pieces. But I finally have control over the only thing I can truly control in life. Myself.

Trippie Redd Pegasus Trippie Redd Pegasus Trippie Redd Pegasus takes no days off when it comes to releasing music, especially when it comes to albums as the young rapper has yet to go a year without gracing his fans with a full-length effort since his 2017 arrival. Trippie keeps the streak alive with his new single, “Sleepy Hallow,” and an update on his upcoming album, Pegasus.

“Sleepy Hallow” is a short effort, clocking in at just under two minutes. Despite its brevity, Trippie makes the most of the brief track by packing a good punch in the track as he flows energetically over the song’s haunting, fast-paced production. The single also arrived with a new release date and tracklist for his upcoming Pegasus album. Comprised of 26 songs and guest appearances from Rich The Kid, Young Thug, Future, Quavo, Lil Wayne, Swae Lee, and more, Pegasus will arrive on October 30.

Trippie Redd has been fairly active in the singles department this year, all in preparation for his Pegasus album. A few weeks ago, he teamed up with Busta Rhymes for their “I Got You” single, a track that arrived after his “Excitement” effort with PartyNextDoor. He also released his “Dreamer” single to celebrate his 21st birthday as well as his joint track with Juice WRLD, “Tell Me U Luv Me.”
