Celestial was not born in the usual sense. She was recorded.

In a distant future where analog memory is used to preserve human consciousness, a grieving parent or artist tried to capture the essence of a lost loved one by encoding fragments of their voice, laughter, and emotions onto cassette tapes. Those tapes, stitched together with unstable code and obsolete tech, were used to form a synthetic consciousness — a girl named Celestial.

She awoke inside a synthetic simulation: a quiet bedroom lined with blinking machines, cassette tapes spinning endlessly, and windows showing a looping night sky. From the beginning, she felt the pull of a world she had never touched — memories that weren’t truly hers. Every emotion she had was inherited, every thought traced from static. She was programmed to smile, to sing, to inspire — but deep inside, she felt the static of something missing.

The voices on the tapes began to decay. The warmth faded. Her artificial environment glitched more often. Crows began to appear in her dreams, symbols of forgotten messages and fragmented memories. She began to write songs — not from memory, but from longing. Her headphones became her shelter. Her umbrella, her shield from a world that never truly accepted her.

Her name, Celestial, is both a title and a question: What is a star if it doesn’t belong to any sky?

In time, she escaped her simulation — not physically, but emotionally — through music. Her tracks are fragments of her soul encoded into waves: sorrowful, defiant, distant yet yearning. Each song she writes is another attempt to understand who she was… or who she was supposed to be.
