Amazing selection from DJ Wildchild along with Skibba’s Iconic MC style. Unfortunately we lost Skibba recently and this early recording is a great example of why he went on to have an incredible career as an MC and influence many that came after.

It’s also worth pointing out that at the time Wild Child was the only female DJ on Kool FM and in general Pirate Radio was indeed mainly men. It is what it is and it’s important to understand this and to see how different and more diverse things are today.

It's with a heavy heart I present 'RuffRugidandRaw Forever: A General Malice Tribute [Mixed by Prodigal Son]. I included a collection of my favorite tracks and collabs with Clint aka General Malice. He is alive, and slowly recovering, but the road ahead is going to be long. 

Sara and Clint have always meant so much to me, and I failed in not letting them know enough. I miss her, and the important talks we had on her couch about mental health, perseverance, and strength. She was strong. Clint is strong. My heart aches for him and his family. 

The global junglist network has been holding its breath in shock all week. On a personal level, I have reconnected with many old faces I've long since pushed away or forgotten about. Sara brought us together again, and that's what she would have wanted. Unity. Family. Energy. Junglists worldwide, uniting as one, partying like it's our last. Smiling.

This mix was made with love, sweat, and tears. It's arguably the best mix I've ever done in my life. I haven't mixed Jungle or Clint's music in almost 10 years. I've never felt so many emotions at once behind the decks. I wish I could do more. I want to do more, and I will.

Clint, I love you, brother. I hope your recovery is swift.

RuffRugidandRaw Forever - A General Malice Tribute [Mixed By Prodigal Son]

Here is the first studio DJ mix i ever did in 1992. It a selection Rave, Hardcore and some very early Jungle music. It came out on cassette tape as part of a small series released on the Circus Warp label. Circus Warp was a collective of traveler's infamous for throwing (the now) legendary free party's in and around the south west of England in the early 1990's. I was a young 19 year old DJ looking for anywhere i could be heard and these are the rave's were where i got to cut my teeth and play to a diverse and highly open minded crowd. Massive respect to the Circus Warp, all the other free party crews and anyone who reached any of the free raves.

I know that music can neither heal nor prevent the decades-long existing global sick capitalism, consumption, politics, lobbyism, corruption, systems, society/s that are sick of it, nor the imminent climate collapse resulting from all these causes. But what it can heal and fill up wonderfully I know: hearts and souls - even empty, cracked, damaged and discarded ones. And that completely free of charge. Unbelievable nowadays...what is also clear: we will never be enough people to be able to break the capitalist climate-damaging sick system globally in time, now it has been really too late for too many years gone by. I live against this system as far as my framework as a system-dependent taxpayer allows me to do so. Music is an enormously important part of it. We should tune in together to the inevitable real climate collapse. With happy hearts & souls filled to the brim with music, contentment & love. Only then will the demise of our livelihoods be bearable for us all.

War, natural disasters, politics, violence, protests, riots, injustices, attacks, terror and much more. Back then, compared to today, it was all relatively completely unfiltered, clean and completely free of any media and political fake news manipulation and twisted propaganda. All the  pseudo massiv CAPITALISTIC problems, much more its numerous symptoms of illness such as "burn outs", "social media", "depression", "shortage of skilled labour", "housing shortage", with manipulation, fake news, advertising, capitalistic, political influence soaked "media", or topics such as "urban gardening", "gentrification", immigration, all that "self-love, self-worth, what is happiness, the search for the self" madness, "gender", LGBT, "metoos". ... didn't exist back then or were healthy, normal, simple, clean. And yes, people's worries and fears back then were the same as now, just as real, normal, simple BUT FREE from any capitalist distortion, self-promotion, exaggerated and inflated hyperbubbles. Without the very large, constantly spreading epidemic of capitalism, there would probably be less than 40%? of all these problems on our planet, and a global negative climate collapse would never have been an issue. Religion does not affect our climate alone, but in numerous religious political disputes harms people beside climate, nature and all living creatures the most.
