The shift is underway. We've seen the writing on the wall, and the transformational paradigm realignment in the electronic music industry is afoot. No longer are fans content to bang their heads in hedonistic ecstasy before passing out under a car in the parking lot. Supporters of the scene want more--and they're getting it. The sacred bass and downtemple scenes are emerging from their west coast haven to spread the word from coast to coast.

And it's a European producer who has gotten the ball rolling. Since the 80's, Toby Marks has been an influential producer and label head, amassing a huge catalog of tunes and treasures. His most recent album, Apollo, breathes new life into the industry, and as such, the remixes are equally potent. Artists like GAUDI, Kaya Project, and Eat Static take their turns on Ollopa: Apollo Remixed, and the results are extraordinary.

Today, we premiere the Desert Dwellers remix of "All Sleeping." This reset button for the body and soul is a liquid trip down healing waters into a soothing pool of transfixing percussion and light, glitchy melodies. Slip away on a whisper with this translucent delight that captures the mind. It's out there. And there's no doubt the boys are going to break it out when they play Sonic Blossom in Denver, CO next week. It's too good to keep locked up.

The newest release from A Path Untold, ‘Wander to Serve’, is a full-length offering of 9 tracks that envelops the listener in a sonic world carefully constructed through a powerful combination of uniquely varied genre elements. 

The album draws upon a personal account of transformation and transmutation, each track a form of therapy and self-expression shaped around the need to transmute pain and struggle into beauty and triumph. Over the course of Daniel’s 17-year journey as a music producer, his relentless exploration through the genre spectrum has allowed him to retain an objectivity necessary for the fusion of eclectic stylistic influences. His alchemical style has evolved over the years through observing, collecting and fusing together a variety of inspirations, bringing together elements from future garage, slow house, downtempo/ambient, world music and idm. 

Additionally, through his experiences with Peruvian medicine work and group-based healing ceremonies, a loving fascination with that culture has also weaved its way into his compositions. With the utmost honor and respect paid to these long-standing traditions and sounds, he feels that it is in this fusion of mediums there lies an incredible opportunity to unify cultural realms. Bringing qualities of sacred healing experiences to the dancefloor, and utilizing the limitless palette of modern electronic music production to create transcendent healing experiences, the lines are blurred between worlds, utilizing music and creative expression to explore the balance between dualistic elements like illumination/darkness, past/future, tradition/innovation, euphoria/melancholy, natural/artificial, individual/collective, all as an expression of unity and holistic oneness. 


‘Wander to Serve’ is a tribute to the notion that we are here collectively to be of service to one another - to help liberate each other, awaken, and create. That “To fully be of service, you must allow your heart to truly wander” through the infinite spectrum of experience in all of its dualistic nature, including facing fears, sorrows and challenges along the path of keeping your heart fully open in order to give and receive, in cyclical oscillation. This process manifests itself as a transmutation of life events, the concept of turning poison into medicine, darkness into light.

Drawing listeners into the sensuous atmospheres and windswept soundscapes of nomadic world-fusion, Breath is the fourth elemental entry in the electro-mystical odyssey that is Desert Dwellers’ iconic Downtemple Dub collection. A caravan of musical heritage that infuses the open energy of slow house grooves and tribal rhythms with the evocative beauty of global folk melodies, this sonic odyssey is an exotic exploration of hypnotic vocals, seductive instrumentation, and stirring psychedelic progressions. Bridging the ambient serenity of a deep meditation with the indulgent motion of ecstatic dance, Breath manifests as a soothing breeze in one moment and a whirling tempest in the next. 

Continuing in the spirit of cultural celebration pioneered by Desert Dwellers producers Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, Breath weaves visionary sounds from around the world into a musical tapestry highlighted by contributions from multilingual lyricist Meagan Chandler, Middle Eastern vocalist Ricadin, Madi Sato, and Darpan. Enriched by imaginative instrumentals from Drumspyder, HÄANA, Lynda Arnold, Paul Livingstone, and a range of other musical virtuosos, Breath is a dance across language and sound that calls attention to the universal power of music to dissolve the borders and boundaries of modern culture.
