An independent rap artist & music producer, born in Newark, New Jersey on November 3, 1987 to Michele Jackson and Derek Wilson. He was named after his father and at the age of 4, they all moved Washington DC . Within a year, they moved to Alexandria VA.  He started writing rhymes at age 12 and in just 4 years, he taught himself how to make beats using FL Studios. In 2005, he and 4 of his friends from high school formed a rap group together named “5th Demolition”. They released their one and only project  which was very popular and well received locally by the neighborhood and their peers. Majority of the project was produced by Derek, who back then went by the moniker “Jersey-Kid”. After graduating high school, Derek continued making beats gradually elevating his skills. He started making music with another high school friend who is locally known as “Davy Fresh”. Together they began making music under Davy Fresh’s independent label “Fresh Kids Music Group”. Derek produced a number of songs for Davy Fresh like “JAY Z”, “Ten Jays Pt. 2”, and a song he is featured on, “D.R.U.G.S.” In 2018, Derek released his first solo project entitled “D.R.U.G.S. (Down Right Unapologetic Good Sounds)” under the moniker “KeepanEyeonTheProduct”. The entire project was produced by him. Popular songs on this project were “D.R.U.G.S. Pt. 2 (feat. Davy Fresh)”, “Chill Sh*t”, “96 Galant”, & “Blunt Force Trauma”. That same year, he and another popular local artist, Wes Felton, released a joint project  entitled “Kings in the Wilderness”. Derek contributed as just the producer of all tracks on the project. In 2019, he released his second solo project entitled “Nostalgic Relapse”. The songs released on this project were “F.R.E.S.H.”, “Double Dosage (feat. Wes Felton)”, “Metaphors (feat. MioTiga)” & “The Product Back”. This project was also produced entirely by Derek. A year later, he started his own entertainment company named Potent Product LLC. Derek plans to continue to make beats and release music along with exploring in other endeavors such as fashion and music videos. In 2021, he is set to release his third solo project  entitled “The Epidemic” on his own company with the song “Bass” as the leading single streaming on all platforms. Derek has every intention on elevating his music and business mind as he continues to do what he loves, which is music.
