With over 25 years of experience as a DJ, and 15 years producing electronic music fused with indigenous rhythms and organic percussions, Sabo and his label Sol Selectas need no introduction. In November of 2020 Sabo released his 3rd studio album “Buddy System”, a collaborative effort with several producer friends from around the Globe. The album topped the charts and continues to move dance floors around the World. Sol Selectas now presents the “Buddy System Remixes” album, featuring 10 re-interpretations by some of today’s leading producers, both legendary, and up-and-coming.

Dj T. from Berlin, leads off with a powerful remix of “Daikato”, transforming the original downtempo version into a peak time frenzy of psychedelic synths and a groovy baseline which drive the tune.  

Dj Chus of the infamous duo Chus & Ceballos, and the legendary Stereo Records label, takes “Bakhu” and injects his own tribal flavor to create an Iberican drum workout. 

Laroz and T-Puse from Israel, and Mula (FR) of France, both rework the song “Celebration Santoor” which features the incredible Persian musician Bahramji. Laroz and T-Puse take the track into Afro tech direction, while Mula (FR) pitches things to mid-range deep house, with his dubby and heady interpretation. 

For the song “Imagine” we also have two new versions.  Inigo Vontier of Mexico warps the original into a trippy, indie dance excursion, chopping up the vocals, and weaving the plucked string instruments of the original with swirling synths and arpeggios. Abel Ray, a new producer from Morocco, elevates the vocals of Basel Khoury on his version of “Imagine”, and creates an emotional build up of synths and leads, resulting in an epic build explosion of groove. 

Turkish duo Derun, dear friends of the label, immediately requested to put their spin on “Duende” when they first heard Sabo play it. Known for their chunky tribal drums, and epic crescendos, Derun deliver a fresh energetic take on the original, which highlights the beautiful Greek guitar.  

Israeli Guy Mayaan gives “Min Q” his minimal cosmic flavor, adding disco congas, and happy synth stabs that will surely awaken the dance floor’s 3rd eye. 

Russian producer Zuma Dionys, expertly remixes the track “Red Lotus” in his signature down tempo style, with a high energy but low BPM excursion, perfect for those transcendental sunrise moments. 

And finally for the track “Fainá”, German producer Nutia delivers a gorgeously deep and dubby downbeat remix,  which feels like a magical dreamscape submerged in the ocean. 

Helia Jamali re-imagines her own artwork by brightening up the original, and shining a light on the diversity of this incredible release.

Conceptually, Lannka's Alhambra E.P. is an auditory transposition of the imagery of Spain's Andalusia community and a self-assured stride on the pursuit of his own organic deep house aesthetic. With folkloric sounds and ancient rhythms taking inspiration from the mosques, minarets, fortresses, and flamenco traditions that signpost the region's rich history of cultural exchange, the four-track E.P. is analogous of Lannka's own musical identity: "Every trip is a transformation where I meet different artists from different cultures — all different people but all connected together somehow in my head." Two such souls make appearances on the release: Satori's title track mix draws from elements of the E.P.'s previous two tracks, "Daraxa" and "Mexuar", to trance-inducing effect, while Derun's remix of "Daraxa" brings a touch of contemporary Istanbul.

Hailing from TH;EN and Starkato have been regulars on some of the world’s finest labels with their progressive and melodic techno influenced driving productions. For the remix edition of their classic smash ‘Tease’, we welcome Beatfreak head honcho and all-around good guy D-Formation and label favorite Li-Polymer. 'Both remixes feature rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive house vibes to satisfy ambient, uplifting and feel-good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release.

First up we have D-Formation who needs no introduction. The Beatfreak label boss’s maturity and musical development are in full swing, as he kicks off proceedings with a deep, hypnotic beat which is interspersed with subtle effective percussion a profound floaty grooves and indie influences, turning this one into an underground anthem with a very soul tangling appeal. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the remix underpinned by a staccatoed bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect.

Next up we welcome back Li-Polymer who a few weeks back featured on the label with his wonderful ‘How They Shine’. Li-Polymer delivers another gem with is deep rework. His remix is interspersing with roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. Li-Polymer manages to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. Essential stuff from Li-Polymer.

The remix edition of ‘Tease’ really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful deep melodic release will leave you with many smiles induced moments! Not to be missed. TH;EN & Starkato’s ‘Tease’ sees a worldwide release on December 10th, 2018.
