A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations EP series returns for its eighteenth instalment, featuring VONDA7, Tagavaka, Denney, Cornelius SA & Sebee, SQL, Nacho Varela and Cruz Vittor.

Kicking off the compilation is Polish producer VONDA7 with ‘You’re My Swiss Watch’. Having garnered support from the likes of Sasha, Anja Schneider, Camelphat and Laurent Garnier, this new production is a confident fusion of uplifting vocals and bouncing basslines.

Following the release of ‘State Lines’ on recent label compilation Anjunadeep 12, Glasgow-based producer Tagavaka returns with ‘Sky’, showcasing his textured sound design that has earned him support from Adam Port, Lane 8 and Nora En Pure.

Next up, British DJ and producer Denney marks his Anjunadeep debut with ‘Kamikaze’. With releases on Hot Creations, Knee Deep In Sound and Rebellion, Denney delivers a hard-hitting deep house track. 

South African producers Cornelius SA and Sebee bring their melodic track ‘Silhouette’ to the EP, reaffirming why they’ve respectively been supported by Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren and fellow countryman Black Coffee.

A skilful blend of evolving synths and intertwining melodies, Dutch producer SQL delivers ‘Lagom’ - a track first heard on James Grant's mix for Anjunadeep Edition #345. 

Closing the EP is the collaborative cut ‘Kush’ from Argentinian producers Nacho Varela & Cruz Vittor. Characterised by syncopated basslines and percussive-laden grooves, the duo demonstrate their long-standing chemistry as producers that have seen them release on labels including All Day I Dream and Shanti Radio Moscow.

Anjunadeep welcomes the return of Amsterdam-based producer & DJ Nordfold with ‘A Different Life EP’, his fourth EP on the label since debuting in 2020.

His 3 previous Anjunadeep EP’s have accrued just shy of 1M streams on Spotify alone, and saw Nordfold consecutively selected for label flagship compilations Anjunadeep 11, 12 & 13, as well as ‘Letter To Lillehammer’ featuring on ‘Anjunadeep - The Yearbook 2021’. Nordfold’s consistency has gained him support from BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM Chill, as well as from respected DJ’s such as John Digweed, Marsh, Sultan + Shepard, Enamour and more.

Title track ‘A Different Life’, first featuring on Anjunadeep 13 earlier this year, combines washed out vocals with lush pads and warm tinges of acid to create a feel-good dance floor filler. To complete the EP, ‘Catalyst’ and ‘Credits’ provide a more club-focused sound, employing trance-like melodies and meticulously crafted basslines to create suspenseful peak-time builders.

Kicking off the EP is a remix of Above & Beyond’s ‘Surge’ from Russian producers PROFF and Igor Garanin. First debuted during Above & Beyond’s ABGT500 Deep Set, PROFF and Igor Garanin add an organic house spin to the original, leading with an array of percussion and intricate countermelodies.

James Grant and Jody Wisternoff collaborate with British producer LEGATO on ‘Petals’. With releases on All Day I Dream, Eton Messy, When We Dip and Nightcolours, LEGATO demonstrates his distinctive style in his latest collaboration.

Duke Boara returns to Anjunadeep with ‘Woodwick Close’. Having first debuted on Anjunadeep 12, Duke Boara has since gone on to release his debut album ‘11am’ which has gained over 8 million streams and support on BBC Radio 1.

Anjunadeep welcomes Natascha Polké back to the label with a James Grant & Jody Wisternoff edit of ‘Loose Lips’. Natascha debuted on the label in 2022 with ‘Cranes’, a collaboration with Nils Hoffmann, and has had further releases on This Never Happened, Hive Music and Definition:Music. Leading with Natascha’s enchanting vocals, James and Jody stamp their mark with signature percussive-led rhythms and warm chords.

‘Freefly’ is the second collaborative cut on the EP, with Ukrainian producer Nōpi, Jody Wisternoff & James Grant. Nōpi first debuted on Anjunadeep in 2020 and has since gone on to release his outstanding four-track EP ‘Gray Cloud’ on the label.

Rounding off the EP is a Jody Wisternoff & James Grant remix of LAR ‘Collide’. Hailing from the UK, LAR debuted in 2021 with his release on Monstercat Silk and has since gone on to release on Colorize, Eton Messy and Zerothree.

An artist with a diverse and storied relationship with the dance music scene, GMJ & Matter are proud to see Kasper Koman make his label debut with the twin-track "Sinking Sky / Biome". A veteran of more than a century of production credits dating back to a 2008 debut, Kasper Koman has seen his work signed to myriad high-profile labels including the likes of Plattenbank, Anjunadeep and Guy J's Lost & Found. From central Netherlands, Kasper has combined trademark emotion with a powerful and evocative sound that has seen his music supported by such leading tastemakers as Guy Mantzur, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J himself. Now debuting on Meanwhile, the "Sinking Sky" opener is characterised by a driving beat and metronomic hi-hat pattern. A running 16th note bassline pattern enters the fray in the second movement with a fizzing vibrancy provided by resonating and filtered effects. A cast of additional characters add to the overall sonic landscape including a beautifully juxtaposed pad progression. A spine-tingling breakdown provides acetylene-edged emotion via the extended bassline motif, before hitting its stride once more in the latter stages to wondrous effect and no small amount of production talent. "Biome" continues the narrative of raw effects-laden power, while a strong kick lays the foundation for a piercing percussive groove, adding swing to the off-beat. A well-crafted sonic palette supplies a soft chord progression of Kraftwerk-inspired imagination as a meandering array of well-placed effects, white-noise washes and rasping bass notes create a mosaic of sounds. The result is a hypnotic, angular offering that keeps listener interest piqued without a central melody seeing the 6-minute piece fly past in an instant. And finally, 'Adapt' which playfully uses light and dark to paint its audio picture. Like a caged lion waiting for its moment to escape, the build up is tense but the pay off magnificent.
