Based on the diminished axis, using the diminished scale. There's a repeating rhythmic pattern utilising diminished chords. It has a bridge with 7/8, 6/8, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, 6/7, etc., with layers of 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, notes. Another section plays with numbers. Using a pattern: 1-3-1-2-1-4-1-1-1-5. So, it's 5 rhythms with 4 chords cycling through it. Creating a poly rhythmic/chord relationship. When the 5th rhythm hits the chords restart, and on the 4th rhythm on the next, and 3rd on the next, etc...


Salve Mugiat

A nice roundoff to all the madness. It has a melancholic and longing feel. It's what I hear when I stare into the distance. You see mountains, clouds, plains, and a lot of beauty around us. It's hard to bring all the beauty we see into music. This is what I attempted here. It's thinking out loud with music. Painting a scene. Creating a memory of a mood or moment. The solo is talking its way through some ideas to find the sweet spot, where the moment hits.

Vale Profunditatem

I got this idea from seeing John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin, Them Crooked Vultures) performing at an electronic festival. The Foundation was an electronic jam which gave him space to apply improvisational concepts. So I composed an electronic track mostly with bass and a huge amount of effects, modulation, bit-crushing, and then some. This also kind of bends the rules. I use a nice 13/8 in the tune, dividing the melody into 6/8 and 7/8. Then resolving with a solo, with an insane bass sound.
