On Rotation returns with the second instalment of its Genetic Memories V/A series, showcasing the diversity of the label’s sound through 4 floor-focused cuts from a spectrum of global talent.

Fresh from dropping an EP with our good friends space:lab, Rambal Cochet delivers a mind-melting A1 to start things off. Deep, tasteful and making full use of his trademark sound design, “Meteora” is one for the witching hour! 

Bolam steps up next with the party-starting “Dream Machine”. Colourful synths sit atop driving breaks, with the peak-time energy dialled up to 11. 

Flipping the record reveals a darker, hazier sound. Moisk’s “GooSE Attack” is reminiscent of long nights (and mornings, and afternoons) in the smoky clubs of Berlin and Amsterdam, while the dark, rolling tech house of “X-Stream” by Aussie heroes Primitive Needs is pure afters’ fodder - a real B2 killer for those who know.

On Rotation is a Leeds-based event & mix series turned label, with 6 genre-defining releases featuring scene stalwarts such as Adam Pits, Solar Suite, Anderson, Roza Terenzi and Hybrid Man, Jamie Leather & more.

After Denzel’s debut EP ‘Techniques 4 Life’, the quest for finding those approaches continues. The Helsinki night owl draws from a range of influences here on his sophomore EP ‘Glorified Intake’, leading things into a murkier territory than his previous, with tracks made during a transitional period between two cities, H & B.

The first track HKI 13 is an ode to roots. The track is held together by a swerving astral arpeggio combined with chants from a village dance off and stabs that liken to that one Balearic house anthem… The Sun is well on its way below.

Nightrun reduces things to a darker core, howling into the night, embodying a state rather than telling a story. Time goes by, how is it already tomorrow? An after hours tune with a bassline for a hook. Doesn’t get much sleazier than that. Getting down, getting low.

On the flipside, we’ve made it to the beginning of the end, phased out the doubts and gathered up the strength to go on — things are looking brighter. A voice inside your head — trust only yourself.

Finally on the last stretch, light has subsided and darkness has landed once again. We’ve thrown out any notion of what, where and who. Those things don’t matter anymore: we’ve perfected “the state”. It’s go time.

Following up his debut release on SOEX, Whitvoir welcomes local Warrandyte producer, Jon Jones to the label launch with ‘Airflow.’ -  a four-track expedition through something the label have coined, ‘Outback Trance’.

This premiere's, Phantom Spirit picks up the pace, encouraging sprinklings of the ones and twos, washy hats, rolling kicks and 80s toms throughout. Trancey synth lines combine with airy vocals, which pair up nicely with the wavy 303 line, keeping the track ever-evolving whilst bringing through the ethereal and otherworldly character that the title projects. A lovely number all round suitabe for all listening environments.
