Slamajam (Soundtrack from "The Game of SPLEEF")

The last 6 months or so I've been rather picky on what gigs to accept as I'm devoting all my time to Kubbi material, studies and other projects. In March I was invited to do a track for this new and very promising project called INDIEBOX and these guys instantly caught my attention.

For the IndieBox package of May, I wrote this little jam based on the soundtracks and themes from this month's game "Teslagrad". A lovely game with lovely music and, seeing the producers are norwegian, how could I say no to such fun work?

Monody

TheFatRat - Monody (feat. Laura Brehm)

What do you get when you cross some 8-bit music technology with Dixieland music? Well... you get stuff that sounds like this. The uncompressed download comes with a pile of extra stuff, like versions at 220, 230, 240, and a whopping 275 beats per minute! That's really fast. It also has loops that don't go through the modulation so you can repeat them as long as you'd like!

You want adventure? You want a princess? You're not getting the princess, buddy... but Adventure Awaits in "Overworld"!
How much adventure? A statistically significant amount. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 18ppm... (or roughly 18 milligrams per liter... the density of adventure is unusually high, and in some cases even at 18ppm you will get a weight closer to 19mg/L.)
Download comes with a faster version, a SUPER faster version, and a slower version without percussion for lazy title screens and whatnot.

Track created in LSDJ 4.7.3 and 4.8.6 on a DMG­01 (DMG­CPU­06), May-June 2016.
I'm resisting the urge to call this song "My First LSDJ", as accurate of a title as that may have been. It's probably no trouble to tell from the song that I'm used to working with the NES sound palette. I love the 2a03, but I enjoyed the opportunity to make something using a different toolset. Hooray for stepping out of my comfort zone!
