Muriel Darmon, sociologue au CNRS, est l’auteure du livre “Réparer les cerveaux, Sociologie des pertes et des récupérations post-AVC” ( La Découverte, 2021), qui retrace une longue enquête menée en immersion dans des services hospitaliers de neurologie et de rééducation et dans un centre de réadaptation pour appréhender différemment la prise en soin de l’Accident vasculaire cérébral (AVC). Elle étudie la manière dont les facteurs non-médicaux impactent la rééducation post-AVC et les trajectoires de soins. Muriel Darmon  s’attache à montrer comment le social conditionne l’atteinte biologique, la prise en soin, la récupération. Les inégalités sociales de santé, en particulier de classe et de genre, sont au cœur de sa réflexion. 

Muriel Darmon est directrice de recherche au CNRS, rattachée au Centre européen de sociologie et de science politique (CESSP - CNRS / EHESS/ Université Paris I) et co-responsable du projet ERC Synergy Gendhi (« Gender Health Inequalities »).
