Remember Mother/Earthbound Beginnngs, the game shadowed by Earthbound and Mother 3? Well, I haven't played through the entire game so far, but I'm liking the soundtrack so far. Sets moods of adventure, jazz, homeliness, ecetera.
One song that stands out in particular is the Hippie Battle (creative name, I know), because of how tight and dance-able the beat is. Definitely better then it's 16-bit counterpart.
I went about remaking the sound a day ago it the end result actually turned out pretty well. It was originally just gonna be a remake with the NES sounds, but then I added some guitar filters/amps, and a guitar sample from Earthbound. I think it sounds better this way, honestly, although not as crisp as the original. Ah well. Enjoy the song.

Fighting in the 60s (Hippie Battle)

If you've seen the original cover and didn't want it to be properly chiptune, just skip this one.
I was pretty happy with my original cover, however, the realistic instruments popping in out of nowhere was out of place, so I changed it up so now the instruments are all chiptune based.
I can't tell you how much of a pain it was to have the song exported. The main instrument I used can only be exported so many times within on song until it straight up doesn't appear in the mp3. Had to make a new song and copy the instruments there so I could edit it in the main one. It was worth the trouble, so there's that.

Save the World (Complete Chiptune Version)

I felt like doing a rock song over the weekend, and that's what I did.
So, the theme that plays when you first meet Flowey, 'Your Best Friend', is only about 15 seconds long. 'How do you make it longer and not make it sound repetitive, Prog?' you may ask? Well, I had to try adding a few notes of my own (y'know, alongside the letimotifs), and y'know what? It turned out alright.
Sure, it could've been better, and I still have a long way to go until I can do good rock music, but as my first attempt, eh. 
Anyway, listen to the song, please tell me what I can do to improve, and until the next song. Hopefully something from another game, or maybe something original.

Best Friends Rock

Ever get one of those moments where you wanna sit down and take an hour out of your life to recreate a song from Sonic the Hedgehog? Well, this'll be the first of at least... One more moment, but still, that'll be my next musical project.
So a while back, I came across a soundfont which pretty much contained all the instruments from the 'Sega Genesis' library, and only on Friday did I start playing around with it. I was going to try and remake another song from Sonic, but I found the piano played during 'Starlight Zone', and I got a little sidetracked.
From there, I remade the song in the original style, and I love how it turned out. I would upload it, but I don't want to have practically identical replicas on this account (because what's the point of listening to the original), so I replaced the instruments with more modernized instruments and got this.
Personally, I prefer the Genesis one, but this still sounds pretty good to me, so I'm happy about that. Hope you enjoy it to.

Starlight Delight

Y'know, I'm a pretty big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. Loved his games as a child, still do know. He's definitely had his ups and downs, but his adventurous and helpful self has stuck with me for many years, and I'm grateful for the many hours I've spent helping him through his many escapdes.
Also, I'm think I've only realised this recently, but Sonic games have fantastic soundtracks. Even in his worst games, I can still find myself listening to the music with a smile, I mean, Knight of the Wind, Solaris Beach, Endless Possibility, they just sound so wonderful.
However, I think the tune that has stuck with me most is the Green Hill Zone music from the first official Sonic game. Sure, limitations aside and not necessarily having a tempo that fits the high speed gameplay, but when I hear it, I think everything Sonic games are at there core: Blissfully running through various worlds, exploring what they have to offer. A remake was inevitable, honestly.
I did something a little different for this one. Instead of just a Genesis remake then a conversion to realistic instruments, I actually tried adding to the composition, and honestly, it's the greatest sounding thing I've produced so far. Unlike AsgoreTrucken, there's no way am I looking back on this later on and groaning to myself. If it weren't for  my snail like drawing pace, it would've been up sooner. I'm a disappointment to Sonic in that regard.
Anyway, description over, give a listen, then do whatever.

Green Hill Bliss (Green Hill Zone)

Lookie lookie, something original for a change! The first of (hopefully) many, so congratulations, song! You're official the grand dad of everything to come!
Before now, I was stuck between two songs: A EDM based intense track using way to many drum sounds (which isn't coming out too well, considering it's something I've never tried before), and this little piece. spawned off a piano piece I accidentally came up with.
Over the course of a few days, I've been working on this and the other one, trying to achieve some form of quality, and y'know what... I think I've done it. I just really love how this turned out, and while there's probably a better way I could've gone about this, I don't care. It's done, and I'm ecstatic.
I might not upload for a few months due to a project I'm working on, but I think this is a good piece to go out on. With that said, I'll stop typing and be on my way.

Wistful Ways

Eh, screw it. One more.
I'll be honest, the only reason this remix exists is because I was figuring out pulse settings for a VST, which lead to myself remaking the song. I was unhappy with the chiptune so I switched out the instruments for guitars. 
I actually listened to this song on repeat for more then two hours while I drew the album art, which I decided not to upload with the track. Temmie Finds a Guitar Amongst Her Cardboard Boxes

For once... For once... I made a song I actually like the sound of.
Of course, production wise, it doesn't hold a candle to most professional songs, but jeez, do I love how this turned out! I mean, the other original song I did, Wistful Ways, sounded good, but this just has better audio control in my opinion.
So, I started this off wanting to make a funk song in the style of a battle them, and while I had no clear objective for who, I had thoughts about the Hippie from Earthbound using the song as his theme. When it was done, I could totally see it being an unofficial battle theme, so it kind of became his song. An unplanned dedication to one of the few songs in Earthbound I love.
I feel the could've been one more instrument to the ending, but seeing as that was only a tiny thought and the song was good as it was, I left it as it was. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Earthbound: The Hippie's Return

So, I pretty much decided that I'm going to remake every single song from the original Sonic 1 soundtrack.
Why not? I mean, the first game has some of my favourite songs from any Sonic game ever, and seeing how it's been his 25th birthday, it'd be a nice little late birthday present for my favourite video game hedgehog (not that he has that much competition).
Don't know when I'll be doing them all, just hopefully by the end of the year. Also, album art will be down around the time I have enough songs for an album. So until then!

Sonic's Beginning

Looks like I'm finally getting around to finishing that Sonic 25th Anniversary album (after a week of disappointment working on something original), and wouldn't ya know it, it's a Jazz version of the theme from Marble Zone! 
Man, that level annoys me!
Maybe it's the spikes that slam onto ya from above, or the wider then usual jumps in act three, but I'd probably say this is the most annoying level to get through in Sonic 1. Not saying it's a bad level at all. It's got really good environment design, the enemies are interesting to look at, and especially, the theme makes traversing the firey pits and such worth it all.
Strangely enough, for such an intense level, I always found the music rather soothing, not in a traditional sense, but it's not out of the question to sit back and relax while listening to it. As such, I decided the only way to properly get across that feel is with a Jazz rendition.
I like how this song turned out. Minor problems with the horns, but still, I do enjoy listening to this. I hope you do as well.

Smooth as Marble (Marble Zone)

I don't foresee myself drawing album art for this piece for a while, so to prevent it from going to waste, I'll upload it now.
For this one, I wanted to try something different (seeing how this is an album celebrating Sonic and various genres), and after hearing the lovely fan-made Sonic Generations Classic remix for this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YThWRP8dra8), I decided that an Electronic track would be the perfect fit.
And... It's not terrible.
I mean, given this is my first go at the genre, I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, but there's still a lot I need to learn about production and whatnot, obviously. So, as it is, I enjoy it, could be better, and I'm off.

Springs Galore (Spring Yard Zone)

A musical birthday present for my favourite indie developer, Daisuke 'Pixel' Amaya, which I can only really describe as an unplanned collaboration 15 years in the making.

Explanation:
The music found in Cave Story was composed using a custom made program by Pixel know as 'orgmaker', and within the music folder of the game sits an org file simply titled 'newdata', and while largely incomplete, bares an almost identical melody/structure to the game's final boss theme, making it the beta to the track. I was messing around with it, composing randomly, and it kinda click with me how much potential there was to make a full, alternative boss theme using what I had. So I worked on and off it for a few months, motivated by the idea of presenting the finished product to Pixel as a birthday gift. 
After recomposing the song in his latest music making program 'Pxtone' (because it allows for WAV export, and I do recommend for more flexible, advanced chiptune songs). I'm proud to finally share what could've been in the game if Pixel had seen this song through.

Pixel, if you're reading this, thank you for Cave Story, Kero Blaster and all the other games you've made over the years. Their high quality design will bring me back to them for many years to come, and I hope this gift can begin to show you my appreciation for all your hard work.

P.S: You might notice a few similarities to the official theme and my fan completion. I assure you it's to illustrate it's origins and pay tribute, and not just because I'm lazy. Maybe.
P.S; Sorry if the mixing is a little off. It's my worst skill as a music maker, and working with 8 instruments probably didn't help much. I'll work on it though, I guarantee that.
