Opening the new year in style, Musique de Lune welcomes Julian Nates back to the label for his debut EP. Born and raised in Argentina, Julian has emerged from his country's progressive music landscape. Noted for his attention to detail and inventive percussive arrangements, Julian's craft shines through vividly, making each one of his creations an exhilarating experience. Choosey in his projects, the Cordoba resident lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Antrim's Or Two Strangers, while progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J have been steadfast supporters along the way. Having made his Musique de Lune debut with a contribution to the label's 'Rayons De Lune' collection, Julian now makes a welcome return to the label with 'Crystal Eyes', alongside a remix from Tristan Case, Covsky and FRAIS aka Inherent.

Legendary DJ and producer Phi Phi digs out two of his floorfillers for the remix treatment, and we couldn't be more happier with the results. The tracks in focus are the 2016 smasher Breaking Danger and the impressive Hiccup from 2015. Helping Philippe at the mixing desk is his long time studio partner Roddy Reynaert and yet again these two musical geniuses come up with the goods.

First up we have a wonderfully hypnotic remix of Breaking Danger which goes deep into progressive right from the get go. Punchy kick drums and subtle hi hats lead the way to the backdrop of a rumbling bass and intense pad. Cool FX litter the sound as the intensity levels increase thanks to that prominent, mesmerizing gated pad. Expertly crafted percussions drive the track beautifully, leading us into its dark and mysterious grasp. The vocal adds an extra layer of awesome as Walter White narrates keeping our intrigue. An absolute stomper of a track that you do not want to miss.

Hiccup is next for the Roddy and Phi Phi remix treatment and once again these two blow us away with another sublime effort. Chunky kicks lead the way before a deep and lush bassline takes over. The bassline is right on point here as it drives the progressive groove alongside a tight drum section that provides a steady flowing rhythm. Subtle spoken vocals play out in the distance adding mystery and intrigue while short bursts of acid seep through the groove. This one will definitely move the floors, an unmistakable must have, no doubt.

Bournemouth-based Lee Williams makes his Bedrock debut; whilst hotly-tipped French duo Tim Baresko & Clyde P channel the spiritual vibe of a nascent 1987 Chicago house scene with their cleverly acidic ‘Throwback’. Most South Africans know Diamond Dealer as the DJ from Bloemfontein, where he started his career, playing deep African house music in the heart of the townships. His stunning Bedrock debut, the bass-heavy, rhythmically infectious ‘Little Hungry Monster’, and his hugely impressive acidic interpretation of Emerson, Digweed & Muir’s ‘Tracer’, will undoubtedly turn heads worldwide.

Toronto’s classically trained Glenn Morrison, Tokyo’s richly imaginative Satoshi Fumi, and Germany’s brotherly duo Monkey Safari, all make highly impressive returns to the label. But, interestingly, it’s the strength of the numerous collaborative studio partnerships that is perhaps even more revealing. There’s an incredible Latino Detroit fusion of styles from Vancouver-based Andromo, who joins forces with much respected USA scene stalwart Chris Fortier. ‘This Just Then’ marks this duo out as a future creative force to be reckoned with. The excellent production tag teams keep on coming: Austria’s Philipp Straub joins forces with Sweden’s Charlie Thostenson; Germany’s collaborative kingpin, Nils Nuernberg, teams up with Stelios Vassiloudis; Germany’s multitasking maestro Martin Eyerer with fellow countryman and techno-meister Patrick Chardronnet; then there’s BOg and Cologne’s Tim Engelhardt. Yet another bright new star on the techno horizon is Holland’s Rob Hes, who joins up with the up-and-coming LAAT to raise the techno temperature on CD3 to new heights with their intense ‘Perseverance’.

And that's what Leipzig/Germany based Marcel Sterling alias Marc DePulse wants to tell us with his releases and podcasts: there is no box into which you must fit in because you are free in your mind to do whatever you love. Whoever shed some tears while listening to emotional music can relate to what Marc is trying to achieve. It has to be “music to remember” and make a big impact. And that could be a melody, a baseline, steady percussion or strong vocals. Marc has already connected a lot of that love with his music. In more than a decade represented by the strongest labels (150+ releases) and performing on the biggest international stages, Marc has established as a unique producer and DJ.

After releases and remixes on Noir Music, Traum Schallplatten, Definition:Music, Katermukke, Selador – just to name a few – Marc is currently working on his second artist album which will be released in 2017 on his homebase label Einmusika Recordings.

According to his own productions, Marc is running the rising label JEAHMON! Records and opened another platform for the artists origins. “How I Met The Bass” is a storyteller podcast project which became a big brand yet.

Dustin Nantais makes his long awaited return to Manual Music after delivering one of the labels' biggest releases of last year with 'Apathy'.

The Toronto based artist delivers two delightful new tracks, kicking things off with the title track 'Last Legs'. A lovely piece of blissful dance floor euphoria that sits nicely in the middle of progressive melodic house and a more bigroom kinda sound. Sure to be dropped at many festivals this summer season!

On remix duties we welcome Argentinian rising star Emi Galvan on board, after already having released material by him on our MNL label. He brings that percussion driven South American touch which we love so much, and gives 'Last Legs' a whole different feel. Groovy!

The second original is titled 'The More You Do' and is a bit deeper and moody when compared to the opening track. The infectious bassline gently takes you on yet another trip to dreamland as the strings and arpeggiators get introduced subtly along the way. Proper emo vibes here!

Always end the thing with a bang we thought, so we asked Matan Caspi to remix 'The More You Do' and the result is nothing short of stunning! The Outta Limits label boss truly delivers on of his best remixes to date here with a driving chunky percussion fueled interpretation. Proper peak time dance floor madness right here!

Two great originals by Dustin Nantais topped off by two strong interpretations by Emi Galvan and Matan Caspi. What more can one ask for?

'Bitter Rain' is a melodic and dirty workout, with harmonies meeting grittiness, and subtleness meeting pure filth. A solid trrack that is as fresh as a daisy, yet has nods to yesteryear. A seriously accomplished dance floor monster.

Re-Plug boss Cid Inc. steps up first on remix duties, as he continues to develop his own DJ and production career. His remix is a biggie, and in his hallmark vibe, he delivers a throbbing rework. Big bass and plenty of drive, and great utilisation of the melody, keeping us waiting for the big key changes. A monster rework

Nico Morano has been causing quite a fuss in recent years, with amazing roof top gigs and quirky locations gaining international attention. His label Atmosphere has been gaining in stature, and his releases on Sincopat, KATTERMUKKE and Récits de Mars have increased his popularity. Nico adds an air of sophistication to his rework, yet still packing a serious punch!
