You pay attention when industry heavyweights like Sasha and Guy J name check an artist as a potential ‘one to watch'... and Khen is definitely worthy of that.

Through a consistent stream of high quality releases on labels like microCastle, Lost & Found, Sudbeat, Bedrock and Vivrant, the Tel Aviv-native has earned himself a rightful place as an equal in the the group of highly talented artists coming from his home country of Israel (Guy J, Mantzur, Shlomi Aber, Sahar Z). The fans have showed their support too, his ‘One Day of Independence’ debut LP on said Lost & Found went on to peak at number 1 on the Beatport top 100 progressive and overall releases charts. And his tour dairy is becoming increasingly busier, booking requests filtering in from all corners from the globe.

There is a lot to like about this podcast, from his own productions to tracks from artists like past Balance Selections compliers Stelios Vassiloudis, BOg and Guy Mantzur, all flawlessly presented in way that should win over a lot of listeners.

Thursday October 18th, Free Your Mind Festival is presenting three label showcases in one single event at Amsterdam’s beloved Thuishaven terrain. Hernan Cattaneo’s label Sudbeat, Nick Warren’s Soundgarden imprint, and Audiofly’s Flying Circus are joining forces for what promises to be nothing short of an electrifying ADE gathering. Expect to see many of the usual suspects on this Thursday, which is part of Free Your Mind’s anniversary festivities.

Ziger’s Eat My Hat imprint returns welcoming Kenan Savrun to the label for his debut single. Hailing from Ankara, the Turkish artist has a long history as a DJ dating back to 2003, having shared the booth with Alex Niggemann, Eli & Fur, Andy Bros, Victor Ruiz and Oliver Huntemann. Upon releasing his first productions in September of last year, Kenan has since gone to showcase his music on 3rd Avenue, Soundteller Records, Stripped Digital and Stellar Fountain’s Astrowave. Now embarking on the most anticipated release of his career, Kenan makes his Eat My Hat debut with ‘Shivaya’ alongside remixes from Ziger & Simos Tagias.

Having already developed a uniquely mystical sound, Kenan has been hotly tipped as one of the progressive scene’s brightest new talents. That sentiment will surely grow with  ‘Shivaya’ delivering on a profound level. Built on a backbone of tough beats and a full, perfectly carved groove, the peak time sensibility is high from the outset. Tranquil yet energetic, it’s pulsating arps and percussive flurries add dynamic splashes as momentum builds. The narrative shifts during the break with a cross cultural vocal taking centrestage, bringing moments of soul and emotion, before a timely drop transfers energy into an exhilarating finale. 

The first interpretation of ‘Shivaya’ is provided by Eat My Hat label boss Ziger. The Greek artist has had a tremendous summer season led by his ‘Faded Realm’ single which enjoyed a month long stay a top Beatport’s Progressive House Hype tracks chart. Add to that a Beatport Top 5 for his remix of Nosh & SJ’s ‘17:17’ also coming courtesy of Eat My Hat. Also laying claim to 2019 releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Eleatics Records, Ziger now lands back on his comfortable home of Eat My Hat with a superb rendition of ‘Shivaya’. Taking a cue from the original, the energy proves to be just as palpable here. A reworked groove ripples with powerful momentum as vocal fragments and dark stabs steal the air. Stripping down into the main break, wispy atmospherics add further intrigue before broken beats and a robust roll ignite a massive third act. 

The release concludes with Simos Tagias making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Shivaya’. The Greek artist has been one of his country’s brightest stars in progressive house with a discography that features releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Movement Recordings, Proton Music and Sound Avenue. Now fresh off an EP for D-Formation’s Beatfreak Recordings, Simos debuts on Eat My Hat with a superb interpretation of ‘Shivaya’. Opting for a tough, more techno inspired approach the Athens resident focuses on electric rhythms and pulsating designs, for a perfectly dialled peak time affair. The main break showcases a cascading motif, although indistinct it's emotive appeal is strong, building in waves before the final act unleashes the full vocal for an epic finale. A massive remix from Simos which caps off another incredible release for Ziger’s Eat My Hat Music. Highly recommended.

‘Laziness’ was signed by Timeless Moment exactly one year ago and was vastly road tested by label boss Morttagua as he played the original version in almost every live set through the past 12 months.
With dark mystical vibes  and a very catchy hook, ‘Laziness’ shines on the dance floor due to its perfect combination of Progressive melodies and tribal grooves, a combo that has been the trademark success of many of Space Motion hit tracks,  and now with the addition of NekliFF’s extra melodic touch.  

After playing the original mix live for one year straight, it was only obvious that Morttagua himself would bring the one and only Remix of ‘Laziness’. Morttagua brings ‘laziness’ to his trademark game, adding hypnotic bass lines and diamond crispy synths while keeping the main melodic hook of the original intact.  Extra atmospheres and a highly engineered mix down make this Remix leave up to the hype of its original brother.  

A perfect EP that will work amazingly for the Melodic & Afro House crowds in its original version while satisfying the Progressive Techno lovers in its Remix with an ace package that you simply can’t go wrong with it.
