Exclusive Premieres [2021]

< Binaryh is back to Prisma Techno with 'Icarus' EP.
< The release marks the seven years of Prisma Techno.

Singularity and consistency are two words that define Binaryh's trajectory well. The Brazilian duo formed by Camila and Rene has been hitting hits with each new release and has already become one of the most beloved couples on the world techno scene.

The prosperous relationship built between Binaryh and Prisma started in 2018, with the remix of 'Pulsar' by Paulo Foltz. In 2019 the duo released their first authorial EP on the label, 'Hydra', a hurricane on both streaming platforms and dance floors, being played at major festivals around the world by artists like Tale of Us, D-Nox, Eli Iwasa, Renato Ratier and many others. In 2020 two more great original hits with ‘Palladium’ EP also received support from prominent artists such as Fur Coat and Blancah. These releases constitute a solid base that is the result of the union of the serious and solid work of both parties.

We are now in 2021, and Binaryh is back to Prisma Techno for another great chapter in this story with ‘Icarus’ EP, which is the 36th release of the label and marks Prisma’s seven years of existence.

The title track 'Icarus' brilliantly combines two antagonistic forces, acid and melodic, symbolizing the duo essence, a perfect contrast between harmony and chaos. For those who know the history of Icarus, it will be easy to associate the acid tones with the moment when his wings are burning by the heat of the sun, and the melody corresponding to the dazzle of being flying. 'Icarus' demonstrates all the duo genius, presenting characteristics never seen in their previous productions. It's a powerful weapon, which fits perfectly in the most energetic moment of the dance floor!

The second track of the EP, 'Procyon', has the same name as the brightest star in the Canis Minoris constellation, being, in fact, a binary star system formed by the spectral white Procyon A and its tenuous white dwarf companion Procyon B, orbiting each other.  Here Binaryh intersperses two melodic lines in an analogous way the stars cosmic dance, an epic and intergalactic feeling emphasized by orchestral strings, a characteristic very present in their productions. The break's return is euphoric and relieving, with timbres so hot that they can warm even the coldest of hearts. It is impossible not to fall in love with this couple!

In this release, we still have two remixes from label artists. Vicius was challenged to reinterpret the title track, ‘Icarus’, and presented us with a much more mysterious and esoteric version, succeeding in strongly printing his personality without losing the clear memory of the original story. Chappier once again surprised us with a hat-taking remix, his version of 'Procyon' presents the original story in a unique aesthetic, with influences from new wave, indie dance,  synthetic synths characteristic of the 80's video games, being conducted by well-marked grooves and unpredictable moments. This is something new, impactful and borderless!

'For the 30th release of Infinite Depth, no one less than Brian Cid makes his debut on the label. The American bred and Berlin based producer has a very impressive discography and shows his darker side through this 'Rise To The Fifth' EP. The collection includes three storytelling originals with terrestrial atmospheres, guiding you to an unknown dimension.

The EP starts off with 'Alma De Monte', which means mountain soul. Around the organic kick and percussion, spacious elements are taking shape. Throughout the track these elements are generating a rising tension, which gets strengthened by a screaming sound of the mountain's soul. 

The next stop towards the unknown dimension is 'Mar Adentro'. The intergalactic, but still organic atmosphere gives you the feeling of being surrounded by a world bigger than ours. The earthy sawing synth in combination with the trippy higher details, makes you keep your feet on the ground, but brings your head into that mysterious and infinite world.

'Rise To The Fifth' gives you that extra push into the unrevealed fifth dimension. A dimension which a human mind is not capable of imagining. The stronger lower part of the track and celestial aspects are creating this journey toward the fifth. When arrived an unidentifiable sound welcomes you.'

Italian duo Armonica already started 2021 with an excellent 'Slave' EP alongside Patrice Baumel remix with us, so now they are providing their starting point of the release. Energy-driven 'Passion Of Life' serves uncontrolled neat feeling of the peak-time moment with its emerging breakdown and vocalized elements. Argentinian Brigado Crew and Ubbah have also been marked with 'Too Late' EP at the beginning of this year with us, thus their 'Stop' takes what guys are loved for: effective rolling base next to 80's guitar vibes. This is the right fit for our sound. Happy to have Germany located Peer Kusiv to revisit Eleatics after 'Triton' EP we've put out in 2017. His 'Signal' brings impressive landscapes to go through. Spanish producer Alex Medina and Italian duo Minimarket come up together to convey 'Deep Waters'. This tune brings mysterious blend of electronic and new-wave sounds into one world. Summing up the release we've got here, we do hope you enjoy new sounds as much as we do. With no boundaries at all layers.

Less of a ‘UFO’ sighting and more of a full-bodied feeling, these are otherworldly flavours on an Area 54 level: in just six minutes the French duo traverse their entire sound palette with aplomb. Big crunchy synths on the intro, hip-slinging bass guitar on the drop and lavish extra terrestrial synth flares, ain’t nobody phoning home when this is playing.

Watergate regular Henri Bergmann returns to her Automatik label this April with the five-track Higher Dimension EP. Higher Dimension and Ordinary People will be released on 8th April with the full EP dropping on 22nd April. The UK talent has enlisted several industry heavyweights on remix duties, including Jonathan Kaspar, Mark Hoffen and 19.26, whilst her husband Wennink features on the lead track as vocalist.

Speaking on the release, "the track was inspired by spending so much more time at home during lockdown. Normally, Oli and I work very separately and have two studios. This all changed during the pandemic, and very organically we started to collaborate on a few ideas, and Higher Dimension came out of that process. Of course it also doesn't hurt to have an in-house vocalist on hand!" Henri

The title track leads proceedings, taking the form of a synth-heavy, futuristic-leaning number. Henri describes it best: "Musically we wanted a hard-hitting deep track, with an infectious melodic lead synth line that would compliment a low and rousing vocal." Ordinary People comes next, taking on a darker feel through pummeling kicks and a fast, techno-inspired tempo..
