There goes the second and final instalment of Hidden Empire's latest diptych release, 'Amount of Rate'. Full with the throbbing electronics of their most out-there pieces and repurposed mystic vibes to have you zoning out full-mode when the break kicks in, this new effort has dance floor-electrifier written all over it.

If the dystopian title-track 'Amount of Rate' lives up to the hype its title suggests, running the gamut from hi-velocity Italo drive to full-fledged electro techno on a mission, the further brooding 'Algorithmic Future' sets its sight on more intricate modular-like mind-games, showcasing the duo's implacable know-how when it comes to building darkness-clad peak-time weapons both openly aggressive and transporting to the full. Taking us on an even wilder ride into outer space, 'Hyperdrive' tops it all off on a sci-fi-friendly note, where the spaciousness of Hidden Empire's sound design and their unabashedly epic take concertina into a monster tsunami of sorts, set to blast its insane amounts of energy with full-force.

Based out of Hamburg, Lampé goes in commando style on his debut contribution to the Stil vor Talent fold, 'Transmission'. Raiding the dancefloor with a pair of hard-nosed churners set to whip up ravers into a frenzy, the German producer puts on the afterburners and doesn't intend to slow down one bit. Written during the pre-touring season of 2023, there's a solid pair of DJ-friendly assets for the busy season ahead.

All in pressurized volatility and steel-clad punch, the lead single unfolds a contrasted sequencing, swinging moods and rhythms as the bass-heavy pressure makes itself more menacing with every bar. From a stealth, passive-aggressive early buildup to a fun-loving second half focussing on the epicness of the gated vox chatter and elastic synthwaves, Lampé serves up an absolute treat of a peak-time weapon, zeroed in on submerging dance floors with its powerhouse engineering of uptempo drive and cavernous punch.

In the producer's own admission a track built to ease the raver from a nightly scenario into a sun-drenched setup, 'Pressurized' oscillates "between dark and bright with a hypnotic and easy groove". Percolating a zesty mix of heavy-traction electro swagger and industrial techno gone astray, the track shifts gears with seamless panache, stacking up energy to better fire it back across the room. A choice first transmission that astutely surfs the edge between total club sweep-up and playful 90s-style exhalations.

Our final free download of the year finds Emi Galvan and D-Nox joining forces for a much-anticipated rework of Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long’. Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Meanwhile, hailing from Germany but now based in Brazil, D-Nox has continued to thrill fans with both cutting edge music and enlightening DJ sets. Whether operating in solo capacity or as one half of D-Nox and Beckers, the German artist lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Bedrock, Einmusika, Sudbeat and his own Sprout imprint. Having previously worked together for Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank imprint, Emi and D-Nox also took to re-imagining Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long’ earlier this year. Now over thirty years old, the Original version was the lead track on the British band’s third and most critically acclaimed album ‘dubnobasswithmyheadman’. As a favourite of Sasha, Digweed and a host of other A-list DJs, there are few productions which have stood the test of time in a more enduring fashion. Ending the year on high note, we’re thrilled to offer Emi and D-Nox’s much requested ‘Dark & Long’ interpretation as a free download. Enjoy.
