One of techno’s hottest names Citizen Kain celebrates a year of his UNSEEN label with cracking two-tracker ‘Stories’, out August 30th showcasing his explosive genre-bending talents. 

UNSEEN is part of the producer’s new high-vis policy after years as the DJ’s DJ, his ‘very fat, high energy’ tracks snapped up for sets by Tale of Us, Maceo Plex, Solomun et al, released by labels like Afterlife, Ellum, ATLANT… and DSP hits, e.g. 80k p.m on Spotify… ‘Stories’ follows previous UNSEEN  releases, including his label’s debut, ‘Kiss Me Again’ championed by Tale Of Us, Mind Against, Adriatique and more. 

‘Stories’: A full-on, superspeed, power surge of percussion of disorientating variety at the hardcore end of Kain’s sound spectrum, destined to be the frantic heart of many a DJ’s set, leaving clubbers blissfully exhausted – the only respite being the heartfelt vocal and soft woodwind of the breakdown.

‘Lunar’: back to the darkly melodic side as portentous drumbeats punctuate those slow, soul-stirring synth chords joined by rippling arps between swoony, moony breakdowns as spacey SFX evoke sci-fi scenes. There’s an 80’s New Wave footprint on Lunar too.  

UNSEEN is already a platform for the likes of Rinzen, Heik and DJ AroZe, and also forms an ironically named banner for Kain’s output which is as far reaching and varied as his global gig roster.

Matador continues his fine run of form in 2023 and is back once again on his RUKUS label with two more potent tech weapons.

This Irishman does it all from stripped back minimal to powerful main room sounds and so is one of the driving forces at the heart of the underground right now. He shows a new look here with two heartfelt and house leaning cuts.

Sol is a silky groove with textured synth leads and fresh drum grooves. Subtle vocals are stitched in and there is cosmic energy to the track that lures you in deep and keeps you there. Luna then takes a more late night approach with lush chords washing over you as the gentle percussion and soothing vocals heighten the mood. It's a tender sound perfect for the more intimate moments.

It was here that I learned of the legendary Janissaries, the most elite and fiercest warriors of the Ottoman Empire.  This song has been a secret weapon and closely guarded ID in my sets, and I'm thrilled to finally unveil it on my own imprint this summer."

Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon is often referred to as a pioneer of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House.  His Perspectives radio show and podcast reaches tens of thousands of listeners every month.  He launched his Perspectives Digital record label in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. In 2016 he was nominated for ‘Best Progressive House Artist’ in the annual Beatport Awards, and in 2011, John Digweed named him one of the winners in his DJ Competition sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live.  He also became the first artist ever to release a tutorial for producing Progressive House after teaming up with SonicAcademy.com

To date, Darin has released music on many of the industry's most respected labels including Katermukke, Einmusika, Sudbeat, Renaissance, Global Underground, Parquet, Selador, Warung, Hope Recordings, microCastle, and more.  His productions have entered Beatport's Top 100 charts numerous times and are featured in the compilations of Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, and Max Graham.

If you have ever been in the audience to catch one of his live sets, it becomes immediately apparent that he is proficiently skilled as a DJ as well.  His frequent flyer miles are continually on the rise with regular tours around the world.  He has electrified audiences across the United States, as well as headlined dozens of countries across 6 continents.

Over the years, he has shared the spotlight with many of dance music's superstars including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Sasha, James Zabiela, Armin van Buuren B2B Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, BT, and countless others.  He has headlined over 7 major festivals by North America’s biggest promoter, Insomniac Events, and been invited to perform at Amsterdam Dance Event, Ultra Music Festival, Burning Man, BPM Festival, and South By Southwest (SXSW).
