Making its annual pilgrimage to the Dutch music capital, Mango Alley provides a virtual tour of sonic highlights that represent the global gathering of Amsterdam Dance Event. Another year of isolation and restricted contact culminates a sonic congregation that showcases emerging and established talents in a melting pot of creativity. Pulsating beats criss-cross the Amsterdam waterways where musical works of art provide a new beginning for autumn's artistic centre.

Roaring to life as knight and day collide in an explosion of sound and colour, a new nirvana emerges. The stars shimmer over the Melkweg and rippling arpeggios take Shelter on the north side before analogue synth motifs find a sweet spot in the Sugarfactory. Imperceptible melodies fade away on the still night air, anchored to their rhythmic foundations that are infused with history and aural narrative.

As Guy J's exceptional Lost & Found imprint reaches the milestone 50 releases, they look back at 3 moments which have made the label so successful. Bristling with talent, the label has showcased the amazing Israeli progressive scene like no other. First up comes long time friends and collaborators, Sahar Z and Navar with their 2017 smash, When We Face Reality re-edited by an inspired Khen. Deep, soulful and utterly beguiling, the melodies soar in melancholy wonder. Khen is the next artist to get the remix treatment, this time from Belgian superstar Hermanez. Focusing on Khen's incredible sound design, Hermanez builds a uniquely melodic groover from all manner of percussive sources. Finally, Luka Sambe's Sooti, here gloriously reimagined by Eli Nissan. The most uptempo of the trio, Eli weaves a nuanced tail with sweeping sonics, deep pads and cleverly orchestrated toplines.

At a time when progressive music continues to flourish so too does Dmitry Molosh. As one of the movements brightest stars, the Belarus based artist has continued to dominate the scenes landscape. A string of Beatport chart hits along with live play from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Replug’s own Cid Inc., have made him one of the genre’s trendiest artists. In addition to forging strong ties with Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records, Dmitry has grown into one of Replug’s primary artists, most recently remixing Navar’s ‘You Find’ in spectacular fashion. Now returning to the label amidst much anticipation, Dmitry presents his latest artist showcase entitled ‘Detektor’, alongside a remix from Orsen.

Comprised of three tracks it’s the peak time sensibility of the title cut which gets the EP underway. Rhythmically charged, it’s chunky low end and percussive cadence unite for a gargantuan swing heavy framework. A storyboard of squelchy synths, dulcet overlays and vocal fragments make for an exhilarating first act. As the break commences the narrative shifts with a tonal top line adding further fuel to the rhythmic fire, before timely modulation and a wave of drum fills sparks a brilliant drop.

Already a favourite of Guy J, the second selection 'Only U' showcases a deeper side of Dmitry's repertoire. Charming atmospheres and emotive shades descend over warm, punchy beats and afro inspired drums. Remarkably fluid, it's emotive appeal grows during the second act, as a poignant lead theme complements the tonal creativities, soothing the senses while advancing the narrative, eventually reaching an elegant finale.

Rounding out the three originals is 'Sacra' which sees the Belarus based artist returning to his pure progressive roots. Dmitry’s penchant for warm, contoured grooves is what makes this such a dance floor gem. Deep, rolling and with a bevy of momentum it anchors the tight rhythmic core and pleasant hooks perfectly. Smooth yet euphoric, vibrant stabs add an epic flair, perfectly foreshadowing a timeless, emotionally rich lead theme which bridges the gap to immaculate elevation.

Next Marco Tegui and Israel Vich team up for a bouncy adventure into the dusty old west titled ‘Manan Kanchu’. Modd delivers pure magic once again with ‘Gerda’, picking up steam in the compilation the track plays deep inside enchanted forests, giving off a warm afterhour glow. Presenting his first project of 2019, Cid Inc. returns to Replug Records with ‘Via Karelia’. 2018 saw the Finnish artist release two of progressive music’s most widely acclaimed and sought after EP’s in ‘Bird Cherry’ and ‘Abyss’. The two track offerings yielded play and support from his most revered contemporaries, namely Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Resounding chart success followed, with the title selections respectively reaching #1 and #2 in the Beatport Progressive House Top 100 tracks. Now after months of road testing and refinement, Cid Inc. unveils his much anticipated ‘Via Karelia’ EP to kick off 2019.

With over a decade of production credits under his Cid Inc. moniker, Replug label boss Henri Hurtig has continued to flourish. Sitting in the upper echelon of progressive music’s elite, the Finnish producer continues his story with ‘Via Karelia’. Following a prelude of warm beats, hip swinging percussion and electric stabs, comes redolent rhythms and  juxtaposed motifs. Tastefully timeless and evolving with an energetic flair, it’s a melodic theme which shifts the narrative further into euphoric territory. Free flowing harmonics add depth and emotion, coming to full fruition during the main break and elegantly peaking for a spirited final act. 

Rounding out the release in fine fashion are the dreamy tech-vibes of 'Turning Pages’. Showcasing a similar rhythmic prowess to its predecessor, a tightly knit core and rugged stabs aim squarely for the dance floor, while an airy, atmospheric resonance delivers a subtle yet powerful emotional response.
