Premiere: Starkato, Intaktogene - Cracks (Starkato Remix) [Deep Tales]

'Infinite Depth welcomes another Dutch talent, who goes by the name of Stoac. His 'Naked Eyes' EP includes four tensive originals, which are pretty diverse, but with a strong characteristic use of percussion, atmospheric elements and synths. For sure he is bringing something new to the table.

The opener of the EP is titled 'Within' and immediately shows the tension Stoac manages to build throughout his tracks. A repeating one-shot synth goes on for almost the full arrangement and only gets interrupted once. Together with the tribal elements, it brings you into hypnosis, in which all the different background sounds coming to the front.

The title track 'Naked Eyes' is one of those tracks which is building towards one burst of energy. An impressive main synth is coming through more and more throughout the first part of the track, guided by a rising detuned pad. In the break the build-up towards this burst becomes very intense when a bassline crawls up to that one moment. 

After the energy of the previous track, it's time for a key track on this EP and it's named 'Reaching'. The beginning is somewhat dry, but at the first drop everything turns around, from where the journey starts. This journey shows you a very emotive side of synthwork in which a pluck and piano are communicating together. At some points they are reaching each other and sometimes they are reaching a high state of emotiveness their selves. 

The final one of the EP is called 'Terrestrial'. Stoac's characteristic use of percussion is perfectly present in this track. A lot different panned sharp percs, hats and snares are all over the place, but its forming a great groove together with the short and growling bassline. On top of this groove a heavy detuned synth is making this track mysterious and interesting at the same time.'

On remix duties label owner Paul Hazendonk teams up with his friend from Miami KAMADEV and open up a flurry of roaring and rattling synths, shining a different light on 'Back To Life'.

Opening with ‘Shaharit’, warm tribal grooves and synthetic sweeps create a wonderland of possibility. Building slowing to the main break, gritty bass and swinging percussion make way for epic pads and melody before dropping back into that devistatingly infectious groove. On the flipside, ‘True Colors opens with movie soundtrack ambience. Evolving arps develop into cascades as the beats begin and the track grows in tension. The main break serves to introduce more melodics and fleshes out the groove revealing a huge, glorious multi-faceted dancefloor destroyer.'

Amsterdam based duo Engelbert make their Manual Music debut with this double A-sider featuring the tracks 'Arche' and 'Crater'.

They started out in 2021 by self releasing a bunch of singles, quickly securing a record deal at ICONYC the year after. You might also remember the remix they did for Aiden on Manual's affiliated label Cinematique last year- a label on which they will return in 2023 as well.

But first it's time for 'Arche' and 'Crater', two big sounding and very dancefloor-effective melodic techno tracks, accompanied by a remix by the one and only Whirl (ATLANT, Steyoyoke, ICONYC).

As we move into the heart of the winter here in Montreal, we are proud to welcome back the talented Quebecois producer - Monarke. Hailing from Quebec City, he has gained international acclaim in recent years as a key figure for Soul Button's Steyoyoke. His 2021 debut on XYZ - Edge of Reality - struck a chord with global groovers. We are thrilled to have Monarke return for his sophomore release on the imprint : Footprints.

On the A-side, Monarke connects with Whirl for a collaborative gem. Footprints flows effortlessly into a sultry mood, allowing bespoke synthetics to capture the mind. Momentum rises as the track floats onwards, lifting ethereal tones from start to finish. Simply a beautiful production.

Jickow now readies himself for his Olympe imprint's first record of the year, featuring a stunning remix courtesy of the legendary Nick Muir. Hitting the ground running in 2023, the 'Nòstra Dòna De La Gàrdia' EP is due for release across all streaming platforms on January 27.

The aptly titled imprint Olympe serves as a homage to Jickow's hometown of Marseille, France. Reflected in the EPs title, the 2-tracker references Marseille's Notre-Dame de la Garde; known to locals as Bonne Mère and written in the Provençal dialect as 'Nòstra Dòna De La Gàrdia'.

Jickow's latest original production kicks off with crisp, measured percussive elements, which provide an ethereal foundation through which he builds this haunting composition. Peaceful yet commanding the cut grows with intensity, unveiling a web of menacing synth work and subtle bass tones. Atmospheric in its effect, the track infiltrates the ears, lulling the listener into a hypnotic daze and transporting them to a euphoric soundscape of melodic dynamism. A true reflection of Jickow's signature sonic elements and unique production techniques, 'Nòstra Dòna De La Gàrdia' embodies emotion, purity, and self-reflection. Blissfully intoxicating, the cut finds equal comfort within at-home listening spaces and main stages alike, serving as yet another stellar addition to Jickow and his label's growing discography.

The legendary Nick Muir (Bedrock) steps up for remix duty on this stunning original record, giving us another sonic perspective on Jickow's alluring synth work. Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes F-Act to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Switzerland, Bruno Kaufmann aka F-Act has been a beloved talent in the progressive music scene for well over a decade. Often finding a nice balance between progressive house and trance, the Zurich resident has compiled an impressive resume since first emerging in 2009. Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, John OO Fleming's JOOF Recordings and LuPS Records have been key landing spots for Bruno's transcendent sound. Now, following a remix for Balkan Connection's BC2 to end the year, F-Act makes his Movement Recordings debut with a two-track showcase entitled 'Spectral Lines'.

Meanwhile, the equally impressive 'Stark Effect' keeps the peak time energy established by its predecessor. Muscular grooves, crunchy rhythmic structures and emerging atmospheres set the course for astral themes and cosmic arps to provide a bridge into the main break. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the centerpiece delights with its flickering overlays and prismatic effects, eventually giving way to a rush of drums and ethereal finale.
