Theta Eridani (θ Eri, θ Eridani) is a star in the constellation Eridanus. It has the traditional name Acamar from the Arabik Ākhir an-nahr which means "the end of the river“.
Acamar is a double star with some evidence suggesting it is part of a multiple star system
Acamar's distance from Earth as measured by the Hipparcos astrometry satellite is approximately 120 light-years.
Ptolemy described Acamar as a first-magnitude star, which some have taken to be in fact Achernar, which today appears just above the horizon in Alexandria where Ptolemy lived.
Achernar, however, was not visible to Ptolemy (it is from Alexandria today due to procession); its declination in 100CE was -67, making it invisible even at Aswan. Ptolemy's Eridanus thus without doubt ended at Acamar, which rose about 10 degrees above the horizon from Alexandria. This fact besides positively identifying Acamar as the original "end of the river", also strengthens the case for Acamar having been first magnitude in ancient times.

It's been 10 years since their last release on 20/20 Vision, but it is with great excitement that we welcome Spirit Catcher back to the label with their aptly named Blast From The Past EP! 

As one of the corner stones of 20/20, their early singles and album are legendary label artefacts and these guys were total pioneers of the cosmic, disco infused house sound which then became prominent in following years. 

Blast From The Past has been getting heavy rotation in Ralph Lawson's sets over the summer and so we're really glad to finally see it reach the light of day. This one is a trip into hyperspace with cosmic synth pulses leading the way before a killer bass line takes you track straight to planet Spirit Catcher! 

On the flip Closer takes the trip further with more expert bass hooks being joined by vox pads and otherwordly fx. The EP is finished off with Routing Madness, a homeage to the duos love for analogue studio gear which you can hear in the intricate synth patterns which pop and weave through the tracks duration.

Release Info: 
The 138th release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Jobe to the label for his debut EP. The UK artist is fresh off an incredible year highlighted by releases on Sincopat, Selador and Chapter 24 Records. Now getting 2017 off to a great start Jobe presents his much anticipated debut EP for Movement Recordings entitled 'Poseidon'. 
 
Long noted for his character rich sound, Jobe delivers one of his all time best with the lead cut 'Poseidon'. Anchored by tough kicks and waves of wobbly bass the hypnotic sensibilities are evident from the beginning. Detailed percussion brings a great sense of space while a melodious arp further tantalises the senses. It's evolving storyboard is perhaps it's strongest suit as chord changes lift the vibe higher before ethereal vocals and a band of spaced out effects initiate a strong third act finale. 

The EP's second selection 'Eunis' comes in deeper yet equally emotive. A cavernous low end lays down a warm foundation before eerie synths and soulful wails bring further intrigue to the narrative. Trippy and melodic in all the right ways, it's subterranean groove and esoteric themes lead to a short and timely break, before one final rush seals it's mystical charm. 

 The release concludes with 'Paradigm' which finds Jobe exploring the darker realms of progressive techno. Evolving synth textures, bright melodies and a dark underbelly converge for the ultimate sonic collage. The UK artist always brings a flair of unpredictability to his creations and it is this unconventional flow which shines here once again. An amazing journey for both the mind and feet, and a fitting end to an excellent EP from artist set for big things in 2017. Highly Recommended.
