Stockholm, Sweden/Toronto, Canada, April, 2015 — Long regarded as a purveyor of modern progressive house, Jeremy Olander has carved out a unique place in electronic music. With a repertoire that ranges from deep progressive house to vocal compositions to tough, drum-heavy techno, Jeremy is a perfect fit for the microCastle label.

This unique balance of crossover appeal and underground reverence has earned him support from Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Henry Saiz, John Digweed, Nicole Moudaber and BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Pete Tong. As a former primary contributor to the Pryda Friends imprint, he went on to be the first artist other than label boss Prydz to appear on the acclaimed Pryda Recordings; his 'Jackie' EP went straight to No.1 on the main Beatport Top 100 Releases chart, ousted Aphex Twin from the top spot and stayed there for 10 days.

Much like microCastle, Jeremy has never been influenced by musical trends, choosing instead to follow his own path. Jeremy's EP is entitled ‘Goliath’ and includes three brand new original productions alongside a remix from label artist Marc Marzenit (the first ever official remix on an Olander record).

‘Goliath’ has become one of Jeremy's most sought after creations since its appearance on his and Prydz’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. A fusion of new school progressive and contemporary techno, its cavernous groove goes down as one of this year's biggest bass line hooks, underpinning analogue-style melodies and cutting edge sound design.

The EP's second and third offerings, ’Groover’ and ‘Bayhert’, find Jeremy crafting two of the most infectious productions of his career. The former features scintillating rhythms, waves of electronics and haunting vocal elements, the latter presents a tougher, darker and more techno inspired sensibility.

The remix of 'Goliath' is provided by microCastle mainstay Marc Marzenit, fresh from the release of his 'To Love Until We Say Goodbye' album on Henry Saiz’s Natura Sonoris, along with projects for Bedrock and Tronic, all of which have been met with both critical and commercial success. He’s stripped the original right down and reinvented the main elements into his own stadium sized techno behemoth.; the result is one of Marc's most dynamic remixes to date.

Jeremy's unique production touch has yielded many dance floor classics over the years and 'Goliath', 'Groover' and 'Bayhert' are sure to be three of his biggest in 2015.

La preposición procedente del latín CIRCA se utiliza en bibliografía científica, en documentos históricos o en genealogías para ubicar temporalmente un acontecimiento y determinar mediante supuestos, en qué momento de la historia de la humanidad ha podido suceder. Con este título este nuevo trabajo de Jëan Fixx busca desplazarnos a un tiempo indeterminado donde la relación del ser humano y la tecnología es tan estrecha que ya no se alcanza a diferenciar el mundo virtual del real.

En este compilatorio de remixes podemos escuchar las revisiones de los tracks de CIRCA realizadas por Death Whistle, Leuter, Drow, Ekkofault y Ermete Lo Stige, aportando otras aproximaciones estéticas posibles del EP original, llevándonos a diferentes estados emocionales a través de cinco ópticas muy personales:   La remezcla de “Humans” de Ekkofault nos transporta a un transformador amanecer, melódico y luminoso, en el que el encontrar paz y consuelo de la mano de un tema con influencias ambient, chill out y aportes vaporwave.   El remix de inspiración downtempo y tech house que nos presenta Leuter del tema “CIRCA”, nos muestra una narrativa progresiva elegante y flotante que nos seduce con pequeños lapsus de síntesis experimental.   Death Whistle nos lleva a un universo profundo y oscuro con influencias del IDM, el bass y el glitch, a través de la revisión magistral que hace del tema de influencia transhumanista “Virtual Body Language”.   Drow nos sorprende con esta contundente y precisa remezcla de techno oscuro y minimalista, en la que la firmeza de los vocales del tema “The Truth” acompañan una frenética línea de bajo que nos arrastran irremediablemente a la pista de baile.   Para completar esta publicación Jëan Fixx nos presenta “Last Call”, un nuevo tema que funciona como epílogo del EP CIRCA, en el que nos invita a tomar conciencia y acción de forma urgente en relación a nuestro presente y por lo tanto nuestro futuro. Este track combina elementos de techno clásico con arreglos más industriales y atmosféricos, junto a sonidos melódicos que nos retrotraen a la década de los 90, aportando un tono épico y progresivo que ya habíamos escuchado en algunos temas anteriores suyos como “Tannhäuser Tor” (2022) o “Globalizer” (2020).

Los 36 minutos de este EP se completan con el dinámico e intenso remix que el productor y DJ Ermete Lo Stige ha realizado de este epílogo, aportando grandes dosis de sonidos industriales y atmósferas oscuras que nos remiten al EBM y al techno progresivo, y que habitualmente encontramos en sus producciones.

PREMIERE: Marc DePulse - Snarewolf (Stas Drive Remix) [Eleatics Records]

An artist who epitomises the modern underground dance industry, Michael A is as gifted as is he is affable. Returning to Proton Music for fourth original EP in the space of twelve months, it is a genuine honour to welcome him back to the label with "Aura Tears".

From the central-southern city of Mazyr, rich in natural resources, Mikhail Akulich has mined from a rich seam of talent through his Michael A moniker. One of his country's most exciting talents, the Belarusian producer continues to find himself at the vanguard of the underground scene with his distinctive blend of "progressive house and techno". A prolific artist, some 650 production credits sit proudly next to the Michael A name; a profound achievement given a commercial debut with a clutch of original releases for Sterofaza and Fluro Music in mid-2012.

Since then a panoply of original and remix production material has been within the catalogues of some of the finest modern independent imprints, not least in the February 2017 "Micrologica" EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat plus work for Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and Cid Inc.'s Replug. Further original work for Mango Alley has also seen a high-profile remix from Australian icon, Jamie Stevens, while Akulich has also founded his own Genesis Music imprint to great effect and a regular vehicle for his production work. Hitting the Particles catalogues in late 2013, 2014's "Behind The Moon" was a notable highlight, as was March 2017's "Sapphire". Hitting Proton Music at the same time, a trio of original EPs have been spread across 2017 with "Bright Hope", "Symbol" and "My Style" all worthy of appearance on the flagship label. Now, Michael A returns to Proton with another original offering in the shape of "Aura Tears".

The title track is a beautifully sculpted piece that blossoms into a pulsating and driving anthem that is a perfect example of modern underground progressive house. Richly textured, floating pads and shining melody reveal themselves fully in the stripped breakdown before reaching a crescendo in the third movement, while a glorious bassline progression adds genuine purpose and interest in a work of great skill.

Revelling in similar melodic themes to its predecessor, "Ciklus One" is founded upon a strong rhythmic framework that supplies dancefloor interest in off-beat percussive cadence. Simultaneously a deep bass groove sparks low-end electricity while intelligent spacing within the mix and across the stereo spectrum highlights technique and mature production craft.

The final track continues the melodic tropes of earlier work as textured pads and shimmering motifs emerge over the seven-minute journey that coruscates brilliantly at the mid-point breakdown. Binding rhythm and melody together with bassline glue, a sublime groove keeps dynamism high accompanied by deep kick and ticking percussion.

Three new tracks find tears of joy rooted in Michael A's aura.
