Schleiermacherstrasse is part of Stiff Little Spinners Vol. 6 (Audiolith).

Stiff Little Spinners enters it’s 6th volume with a 5 track package spanning the widest sonic spectrum imaginable. Its tracks, in typical Spinners fashion, range from r&b influenced house grooves to shimmering, broken-beat, new-age garage swing. Gimmix & Zorro prove their penchant for urban slow jams with a dance floor flavour. Their opener Oveile builds in a slow, sleazy fashion, eventually trading its more unpredictable drum arrangement for a sturdy 4/4 rhythm. The melody surges harmoniously, navigating the walls of its club-ready time signature, a phenomenal introduction to a mind-blowing collection of tracks.   Rampue slows things down on the A2 with Schleiermacherstrasse; a tripped-out, hazy roller with enough chime to hypnotise an entire stadium. This is not to say Volume 6 contains big room tracks, but rather the music’s power commands attention. This is certainly true for Kalipo’s Mäusemarsch, which whirls, in mesmerizing fashion achieving a climax fit for the party at its peak.   Krink’s Close Distance is perhaps the darkest sounding track offered by the Spinners - it seriousness and condensed energy is bound to leave audiences sweating, until its ferocious bassline gives way to soaring synths and jarred drums.   Joney changes the formula altogether - his sophisticated K-Hole Surfers offers a chugging, dubbed out roller which owes as much to techno as it does to dubstep. It is perhaps unsurprising from the track’s title that one feels like they are riding a rather erratic wave, delving in and out of our universe.   Already on their 6th volume, and churning out high-quality, club-ready tracks, this collective is set for big things.

Frankfurt Advice (Heretic Remix)

Dinky has come forward with “Casa”, the first single from her forthcoming album due out this autumn on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels label. The tracks were recorded whilst she was resting at home, pregnant with her second son. Due to a medical risk, Dinky was forced to stay in bed and decided to keep herself busy by writing music.

Whilst the original features summery, almost blissful vocal hooks interspersed with acid bass gurgles, Satori’s remix takes thing down an altogether more turbulent route. Initially ambient and spaced out, it then morphs into a driving techno track, combined with reverberating pads and choral wails.

First Play: Dinky - Casa (Satori Remix) [Crosstown Rebels]

August 8th sees Intec’s esteemed label co-heads Carl Cox and Jon Rundell both put their own unique spin on Josh Wink’s illustrious 2014 hit ‘Talking To You’, distributed via the aforementioned imprint.

This impressive two-track offering follows a whole host high quality 2016 Intec releases including the Beatport chart topping ‘Intec 100’, which last saw Carl and Jon team up to deliver a release well worthy of its billing. 

Carl Cox’s interpretation commences the release, boasting the original’s ‘I’m Talking To You’ vocal sample set to a driving Tech House rhythm with a looped-up manipulated chord riff and an abundance of squelchy acid bleeps. 

Jon Rundell’s re-work follows and ventures down more of a darker Techno route, utilising the original’s vocal sample and acidline but adding a pounding TR-909-laden groove, sinister sound effects and a clever arrangement.   

You can catch the Ovum Records label boss Josh Wink perform alongside Carl at his final ever season at Space Ibiza (every Tuesday until September 20th) on August 16th.  

‘Talking To You’ (Carl Cox & Jon Rundell Remixes) is available exclusively via Beatport from August 8th and everywhere else two weeks later.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, in his teenage years Mike quickly became infatuated with electronic music. It was the likes of Cassius, Daft Punk and DJ Falcon that pulled him towards the French House realm. The uplifting melodies and funk driven bass lines inspired him to dive in to audio production for himself. Through his work ethic and passion for the craft, Mike powered through a few other genres before arriving at his true love: dirty, gritty, Tech House. The trademark French filtered break downs remained, but today are accompanied by bass heavy and filth covered beats. His credo: "if they move, they approve", allow for some pretty straightforward 4x4 productions.

With a very strong remix from Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic to complete the package, this is a stellar debut release on The Sessions Recordings for an incredible artist who's been around the Amsterdam underground scene for many years. 
 
A dedication to quality house music has seen Paul play at the cream of the world's clubs for the last 15 years. As a producer he has released on the finest house labels, including San Francisco´s Looq Records, Omid 16B´s Sexonwax label, Tom Novy´s Nouvea Niveau, NYC's legendary Nervous Records, UK's Baroque Recordings and Ready Mix. He is also a promoter of Floorplay, a monthly night at Club NL in Amsterdam, which celebrated its 8 year anniversary this year. This industrious expat Brit is famed for DJ sets in excess of 5 hours and has just released on this year’s ADE sampler of Under No Illusion Recordings. Now, with his new release on C-Jay’s Sessions Recordings to round-off 2016 in style, the future is looking very bright indeed.
 
The creative freedom that exists within the world of electronic music always brings exciting talent to the fore and its great to see C-Jay’s The Sessions Recordings revived in 2016 and releasing thrilling music again.
