After a period of anticipation following their last solo release, the acclaimed Gateway EP on Warung Recordings, Hicky & Kalo make a powerful return with two brand-new single titled Rise and Rise Together ft. Terry Grant, out on their own imprint, Plaisirs Sonores Records. 

With 'Rise', the Montreal duo delivers a meteoric progressive house journey pushing toward the edge of melodic techno — a track sculpted with precision for peak-time dancefloor moments. Driven by soaring melodies, tense builds, and their signature hypnotic groove, Rise showcases Hicky & Kalos refined studio craftsmanship while reaffirming their unmistakable presence in the global progressive scene. 

'Rise Together' is the vocal version with the deep, David Bowie-like voice of Terry Grant, the Nashville-based singer who previously collaborated with Soul Button and Armen Miran just to name a few.

Release Info: 
Few producers can traverse the realms of deep melodic narrative and hypnotic club energy with the finesse of Roger Martinez. On his latest HIGHER STATES release, the label head himself takes listeners on a journey that spans desert landscapes, hypnotic rhythms, and ethereal vocal textures.

On ‘Imashaghen’ - the true name of the Tuareg people, meaning ‘noble and free’ - the listener is carried on a journey that slowly unfolds into peak-time frenzy, propelled by ancestral percussion, layered textures, and a mesmerising Tuareg vocal. The track’s subtle unfolding narrative recalls the spirit of Martinez’s 2015 Lost & Found release Downriver, a track that first firmly established his gift for trance-inducing rhythm, evolving atmospheres, and club-conscious storytelling.

On the flip, ‘Eternal’ is a hypnotic groove monster. A central rolling arpeggio motif pulses insistently, building tension and momentum throughout the track. The groove returns again and again, devastatingly precise, carrying the listener towards ecstatic highs. It is a track that demands attention on the dance floor, yet rewards close listening with its intricate, evolving layers.

Both tracks are a testament to Martinez’s 20+ years of experience as a DJ, producer, and label owner, reflecting a lifetime of travel, inner explorations, and sonic curiosity. This release again showcases his defining strength: progressive music that moves the body, quiets the mind, and lingers in the heart long after the final note.
