Following an enchanting inaugural offering from German electronica outfit Ameli Paul back in April, burgeoning Berlin-based imprint MEIOSIS now returns for its eagerly anticipated sophomore outing, welcoming Juan Hansen and Pablo Bursztyn – a.k.a. Forma – for another mesmerising label debut.

A stunningly crafted four-part package, replete with hypnotic modular soundscapes, ethereal toplines and succulent analogue experimentation, Hollow EP is the first extended body of work to be released from the Buenos Aires-based duo, and comes complete with a brace of eclectic remixes from esteemed house producers Nandu and Santiago Garcia.

Christening the release with the evocative title track Hollow, Juan and Pablo make their intentions known from the off, as they take the listener on an emotive and harmonic smoke-screened journey, accented by warped synthesisers, haunting vocals and a playful mixture of subdued four-four beats and elastic rhythmic triplets. Toying with aural imperfections and melodic disarray throughout, Forma’s work honours emotional ambiguity and harmonic dissonance, cultivating a sound that can be equally euphoric as it can be melancholic.

Within this ambiguity, Forma find a place to liberate themselves from instrumental boundaries, creating landscapes that value coincidence, intriguing sound choices and a degree of sonic unpredictability. The second original, Everytime, portrays an unusual kind of music that will, in its abstract layers and polyphonic structures, balance both the familiar and the surreal. Combining disputatious organ chords with avant-garde vocoders and arpeggiated instrumentation, Juan's electronic sound experience merges with the experimental spirit of Pablo's musical quest to create an eclectic journey that exhausts one mood at a time.

The flip sees the introduction of two of the most exciting producers on the underground house circuit, as Nandu and Santiago Garcia each step up to deliver their own unique interpretations of the formidable title track. First up to the plate is Argentinian-born, Valencia-based Garcia. Following a wealth of critically lauded releases on the likes of Innervisions, TAU and Exit Strategy over the past few years, the classically-trained producer digs deep to deliver the artier, more introspective of the two remixes, before handing the reigns to iconic Danish stalwart, Nandu, who closes out the remarkable package with a deep, melodic dancefloor groove, primed for the early hours.

This seminal EP release follows Forma’s remarkable recent live performance for venerated Montreal-based digital festival MUTEK. Always expanding its limits to subvert the expectations of the listeners, this spellbinding live show was in fact the first presentation of the Hollows EP project and marked the premiere of the four songs to be released on July 16. Road to Nowhere – the hypnotic two-part EP from German brothers Santé & Re.You – is out now via their newly launched imprint LSF21+. 

Having pursued hugely successful solo careers and respective individual projects for over a decade, the Road to Nowhere EP is Santé & Re.You’s first shared collaborative production in more than eleven years, and marks the first release to be taken from their upcoming debut album, expected in early 2022. 

Featuring two brand new original cuts representing some of the finest avant-garde interpretations of deep, melancholic house and forward-thinking electronica, Road To Nowhere is an exquisite delivery of intelligent, cutting edge dance music from the in-form producers, who launch LSF21+ armed with impressive arsenal of career releases on the likes of Desolat, Rekids, Supernature (Santé) Kompakt and Mobilee (Re.You), to name a few.

Inaugurating the double-sided package with the mesmerising title track Road To Nowhere, Santé & Re.You draw on their combined experience and united creativity to deliver a strikingly sombre underground cut, replete with complex analogue textures, stripped back piano refrains and a chugging groove that drives the opener across its five-minute duration. Penetrating the soul with mind-altering tones and an expertly manipulated topline from vocalist Biishop (Anjunadeep, Get Physical) this slow-burning offering from Santé & Re.You delivers everything one would expect and more from the re-introduction of these two musical masterminds.

On the flip, and drawing the EP to its conclusion with an ethereal finale, the fraternal outfit demonstrate their inimitable production credentials as they embark upon a trippy journey through consciousness to bring us Faithful. Collaborating with UK-based Zimbabwean singer Oluhle – real name Sukolunhle Ncube – the duo amalgamate organic melodies and lethargic beats with skittish hooks and Oluhle’s subtle vocal refrains to wrap a remarkable debut release on LSF21+ and one of the most intriguing new releases of 2021 so far.

After two contributions to Diynamic’s Four To The Floor series (Editions 10 and 17), Italian duo gizA djs are now releasing their first full EP on Diynamic titled „Acid Afternoon“.
The melancholia of the opening track „In The Sun“ is like running towards the sunset, trying to obviate its descent, when you know you should rather just halt and enjoy the warmth of its last rays. 
„Rise“ is a slowly building and heartfelt dance floor affair. Its trippy arpeggiator is accompanying you while you fall deeper down the rabbit hole. 
„Reload“ is a stopover on the journey. Glance around and feel it all: your heart is pounding, the colors never shone brighter, and your tour guide is pointing out all the places where you can find spiritual enlightenment.
And title track „Acid Afternoon“ is the story’s centerpiece: All engines are go and fuzziness fills the room. Don’t look too far ahead, just focus on the now.

gizA djs - In The Sun

Hot on the heels of Helsloot's superb 'Let's Pretend' single in April come two new remixes of it by Tube & Berger and Saint Evo.

Helsloot's original was quickly picked up by an array of DJs and dropped in a number of great sets. It was the latest in a string of fresh singles from the Dutch DJ and the extended mix is included again here. It is a hypnotic and rolling house tune with lush chords that bring plenty of cosmic vibes.

First to remix it are German mainstays and Kittball Records founders Tube & Berger. This pair has amassed over 100 million streams to their name, have scored a number of Beatport Top 5 hits and are regulars at leading parties like ANTS in Ibiza and the legendary Tomorrowland. Their take on 'Let's Pretend' is a light and airy, disco-tinged and bouncy house cut. The scintillating chords bring light, a steamy vocal layers in the soul and the whole thing takes you into another dime nsion.

Saint Evo is the founder of Celsius Degree Records and hails from the savannah plains of Kajiado County, the home of the famed Maasai people. He is a pioneer of the Afro house sound in East Africa and has collaborated with a multitude of producers and vocalists from across the globe. Here he remixes 'Let's Pretend' into a chunky groove with delicate synths and starry-eyed melodies. The percussion brings rich Afro house vibes and the vocals become spiritual chants that cast a majestic spell.

This is a vital package that brings some fresh new influences to the great original from Helsoot.

Italian duo Armonica has been a project we've discovered a long time ago, so working with the full release with guys is our pleasure and honour.
Their significant productions with Connected Frontline, Stil Vor Talent and Multinotes, as well as the recent remix, done with MoBlack for the legend of afro-beat Fela Kuti, released with Defected, have become the main reasons to love guys' sound.
The main title 'Slave' is powerful and effective banger edging between the melodic influence of laidback Indie Dance vibes and the acid sounds.
We are happy to have Dutch producer Patrice Baumel taking his hands on the remix of 'Slave': going more underground with powerful low-ends work, catchy melodies and the enveloping breakdown, Patrice's version is the undoubted proper floor-worker.
The third 'Ratio' has a profound ground: major synth spots and the melodic elements are unified into the properly performed track.

Luka Cikic is one of the youngest DJ/Producers on Balkan scene. His style is majorly influenced by the artists from Innervisions’ family. What makes his sound distinctive is the fusion of dark melodies and rhythmic sound with elements of afro percussions, as well as the rockish/indie vibe.
He enjoys playing all night long sets, guided by the desire to take his audience on a journey through vast variety of electronic music genres. Thus far, he shared decks with names like Lehar, Denis Horvat, Santiago Garcia, Ivory, Coeus, After Affair.

About release:
On March 5th CPH DEEP released the first tunes of their brand new record label, CPH  DEEP Recordings. The first release is an EP featuring in-house producers Baime and  Azpecialguest, also joining the roster are the international up-and-coming artists Adrián  Roman, Sam Welt, HeÎk, Words Of Nio and Luka Cikic.
Luka is hailing from Bosnia and  Herzegovina but with Devillish his sound might as well be bursting from Berlin’s  underground.
