Last spotted selling elephants on eBay, Bebetta bites into 2018 with yet another genuinely unique concept: ‘Megalon / Hedorah’, two tracks dedicated to beasts defeated by Godzilla’s famous fierce wrath.

The vibes are as strong as the concept: ‘Megalon’ is an electrifying slice of drama that rolls and thunders with the weight and tension you’d expect from a 50 metre high drill-handed beetle humanoid. Its weapons come into action midway as we’re suddenly jolted into wokeness via a crisp, nerve-singeing breakdown that’s strong enough to KO a whole fleet of Godzillas.

‘Hedorah’ also lives up to its muddy, slimy gaseous pollutant namesake. A beast of two halves; the first three minutes of rolling percussive grooves don’t give any hint to the noxious euphoria that’s about to breakout midway. Powerful, highly strung in contrast and fittingly cinematic, over the course of eight minutes Bebetta has us in the palm of her hand and could crush us like a kaiju.

If that’s not quite enough, Uppercent gets involved in the skyscraper-top ruckus with his own take on ‘Hedorah’. Much more stripped back and peppered with theatrical one-note bass drones and shimmering pianos, if the original soundtracks the beast’s fight, this scores its gradual evaporation; emotional, raw and a perfect way to conclude this stunning one-of-a-kinda EP. You really don’t get much betta than this …

Release Info: 
Steve Bug and Langenberg's 'Paradise Sold' album dropped earlier this year to quite a rapturous reception. It's hardly surprising that two of the more proli c and passionate men in house music would pull together such a com- plete album of contemporary house music.

Happily, the guys have now curated a new EP of remixes from friends and family to take some of the album's key moments into new directions.

'Search For Xur' gets the treatment by Rodriguez Jr., bringing a very slinky, late night deepness to the original courtesy of a bubbling bassline and emotionally charged synth pads.

'Senior Elfo' is flipped by fellow Germans Frankey & Sandrino, whose knowledge of the deeper end of the tech house spectrum gives the track an epic openness.

Perlon and Panorama Bar legend Cassy drops her Full On Dub Mix of album highlight 'Chord Cluster', and delivers a slick, driving burner for the floor.

Similarly, 'A Touch Of Detroit' is re-rubbed by Ostgut Ton's Virginia with her Broken Touch Of Detroit mix, which channels classic motor city techno legends to produce a near perfect slice of hi tech soul.

'Above Your Head' is elegant deep house with gentle chords washing over the grooves and vocals from Defected artist and London singer-songwriter Jinadu that send shivers down your spine. The whole thing is soft, lush and comforting, and will bring real moments of tenderness to any DJ set.

Regular label associates Kollektiv Turmstrasse are masters of melodic house who have proved their worth on Diynamic, Connaisseur and numerous other imprints. Their remix of ‘Above Your Head’ sends the vocals through some moody filters, layers in a little grit in the percussion and gets you in a trance with its rolling drums. They also turn in a more upright dub that allows the music to shine.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest anthem of Tulum this season, one of the most awaited tracks in the scene is finally here! Major support from Toto Chiavetta, Echonomist, Santiago Garcia and many more from the scene.

Multi-instrumentalist DJ/Producer Joone teams up with Brazilian DJ Victor C. and British Singer/Songwriter 1403 creating a true Indie Dance E.P.

The Affair, twisted by temptation, poisoned by realities, a scourge of pain in tandem. 1403 freefalls with the menacing bass, pacing like a stalker, desperate for a glimpse. Escaping with a shot, the synth melodies swirl like a strong whiskey hit.

Marcus Worgull Remix strips the track to tinkling glasses by the velvet lounge where a sophisticated mystery woman grabs his face in her hands, before taking him down and throwing him out onto the street, his shirt half buttoned.

Sobek Remix pushes us back to the dance floor with a dusty padded kick, that thumping bass, and pulls 1403 vocals from a hat to drive the dark truth of how The Affair ended.

Distance. Running past brambles and headstones, 1403 is taunted by the woman driving him to wild indecency. Sparse serious percussion, live bass and winding analog synths punctuate memories, far out of reach. Wrangled by the arpeggiators in the 5 AM mix, 1403 can't help himself.
