Monumental times have arrived for Steyoyoke Recordings, as they venture into unchartered waters. This new project accumulates for years of hard work and marks the release of their very first album titled ‘Equilibrium’. The Steyoyoke artists are united within a unique concept, that utilises the four classical elements of fire, air, water and earth, bringing you a creative expression that reflects a state of balance between art, music and the natural elements. Each track is an original production, however they are grouped accordingly to symbolise a particular element that represents the tracks sound and vibe. In its entirety, the whole album creates its very own state of ‘Equilibrium‘.

Tim Green is back with another brace of high impact club tunes of the sort that have made him one of the most in-demand producers of the day.

Whether serving up rolling techno treats for Cocoon, essential mixes for the Body Language series on Get Physical or laying down compelling club sets in the DJ booth, Brit Tim Green is unstoppable right now. Here he steps up to the Get Weird imprint with two more tantalising cuts that show just how broad and brilliant an artist he is.

Stirring opener ‘For A Memory’ is eleven minutes of wordless and intoxicating female vocals, slick rubbery drums and plunging bass. The overall effect is hypnotic, rolling and perfectly groovy, and it will no doubt have whole dancefloors locked under its spell. Some little melodic explosions, sweeping filters and luscious pads all help add a real air of grace to proceedings that mark it out as another classic from Green.

‘For A Distant Memory’ is a subtle but noteworthy reworking of the same cut. In this one, the drums are less direct and more stripped back, there is a focus on the angelic, glowing pads and on spine tingling slices of synth that are reflective and emotive as they drop in and out. It is a perfectly trance inducing, heart warming cut that the likes of Lee Burridge at his All Day I Dream parties, or various DJs playing on a sun kissed terrace around the globe, will all lap right up.

Chain One is the beginning of a new remix compilation on the label New Port Records. Together with artists such as Rene Bourgeois, Nico Pusch, Monova, Dennis Rema, Red Rooms, Copilco and Martin Kleinert, we have generated something new again from already released tracks. We all share the same love for technoid, bass-heavy music. Everything is connected and has a meaning, even if this sense is often hidden, we know that we are close to our true mission when our actions are imbued with the energy, the driving tones, the oppressive bass and the enthusiasm. So we forged an interlocking chain of synthesizer, drums, pads, claps and leads to create something new, tangible. And so we would like to pass on the one to the other and to celebrate the sense of community and cohesion.

The 146th release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Ziger back to the label for a brand new single. The Greek artist last appeared on the Greek imprint in May of 2016 with a remix of Michael A's '17 Pounds'. Now fresh off an EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music Ziger makes his much anticipated return to Movement with 'Faith in the Future' alongside remixes from SEQU3l and Matan Caspi. 

Much loved for his pure progressive house sound Ziger sticks to roots on 'Faith in the Future' and delivers one of the genres true gems. Anchored by pulsating tones and meaty kicks the piece moves through a variety of pensive motifs over its seven minute journey. Energetic yet meditative; solemn synths, luminous textures and subtle hooks wrap around the framework, ultimately leading to a charming break. Dulcet and dreamy, the one minute interlude shifts planes as the beats fade off before a tasteful build takes you back into the cosmos.

Van Did's album "Avenir" is a unique story, and 8day has been looking for some of the best producers to get this remixes done. 

Danito & Athina kick off the EP with a brilliant remix of "Avenir" , the Cologne based couple has been driving a lot of attention with top-notch productions and releases on Stil Vor Talent, Click, Crossfrontier Audio, Jannowitz, and more.. 

Next up is a remix by UV taking things to a different tone, with a groovy and uplifting remix. This Mexican duo project is the result of Vazik and Odiseo's collaboration. Victor aka Vazik is one the mans behind Sounds Of Earth and alongside Odiseo/UP they've been playing and touring Mexico for over a decade. 

Remcord remix follows next, this young producer based in Paris keeps captivating our ears with his elegant touch in every production and uplifting music released on labels such as Atmosphere Records or Sweet Melodic. There's a lot yet to come for the Parisian ri sing talent we believe many will be playing his productions, it's a matter of time. 

French rising star fellow Anthony Godwin aka THe WHite SHadow also revisits the album and deliver a solid remix of "Laternura". THe WHite Shadow's future seems bright, with a number of releases on labels such Click, Sincopat, Nagual, Natura Sonoris and Global Underground to name a few.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the EP?

Fulltone: I got inspired to produce “C’est bon” during my last visit to Paris, "C’est bon" was one of the sentences I kept hearing while walking through the beautiful streets of Paris, surrounded by the beautiful architecture and history. When I got back to the studio I had an idea of making a track that would capture the vibes I was getting during my trip. 

The idea of “Mahe’” came to me during my trip to Seychelles and got inspired by the mesmerizing out of this world nature, Mahe’ is the name of the Capital of Seychelles and I wanted to make a music piece that breathes and reflects the beauty I was in during my trip. 

Where did you record it? And how?

The whole EP was recorded at my studio in Cairo using all my beloved gear! 

With "Mahe" I used a Charango (South American stringed instrument), a kalimba and a classical guitar for the main melodies, all recorded using an AKG C414 Mic and SSL preamp going to a universal audio Apollo interface. For the beats I used my Elektron analog rytm and some field recording I did with my iPhone. For the bass I went for my go to synth for bass the Moog sub37 and also used bass guitar for the baseline during the first part of the song. I remember also using a Gibson J45 acoustic guitar to play the main riff.

“C’est bon” I started with the groove and struggled for a while to find a nice hook for it, then one day my step sister was at the studio and she has a beautiful voice, I had an idea of recording some vocal pads playing the chords of the track, so we recorded each note of each chord of the whole chord progression and I still felt something was missing, so I tried a trick I had read about a while ago, I side-chained a gate on the vocal pads triggered by a programmed hihat pattern and instantly got that stuttering effect you hear on the vocals on the drop, the rest was all fine crafting to finalize the track.

How did you get in contact with the record label?

Klassified label owners (Julien and Thomas AKA Parallells) are very close friends of mine that I consider family. When we decided to release a Fulltone EP on their label I sent them some tracks but highlighted that C’est bon and Mahe were my favorites, they agreed and here we are now :)) EP is about to go out with fantastic remixes from Audiofly & Jonas Saalbach 

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects? 

I have a few releases in the pipe line, I have an EP coming out early next year on Keller Berlin with an amazing remix from Powel, a podcast for All Day I Dream, a remix for my dear friends ElMundo & PHCK coming out on Earthly Delights and finally a collab track with “a surprise” coming out on “another surprise”.
