Alex Stein zählt zu den heißtesten Exportschlagern aus Brasilien. Über die Jahre hat er seinen eigenen musikalischen Stil geformt und geprägt, der schnell eine Welle der Begeisterung hervorgerufen hat. Sein Sound ist dabei kompromisslos, sehr dancefloororientiert und reist einen sofort mit. Über die Jahre erschienen seine zahlreichen Tracks auf Toplabels wie Tronic, Sincopat, Filth On Acid oder Monika Kruses Terminal M, zu der er eine sehr gute Beziehung pflegt. Vergangene Woche wurde sein neuer Remix für Hi-Lo auf Octopus Records releast, der aktuell nur darauf wartet, in einem Club gespielt zu werden und in voller Lautstärke seine ganzen Intensität zu entfalten.

Victor Ruiz, a dynamic selector with a deep appreciation for music, crafts compelling sets full of vigour and vibrancy.  A Brazilian now based in Europe, he has been a constant presence on the world stage since 2013, mesmerizing audiences with his DJ performances at influential events. In the studio, he releases top-notch techno productions showcasing his distinct musicality and energy. Victor's upbeat approach is evident in his arsenal of edits, including iconic tracks like 'Breathe' by The Prodigy and 'Everything Counts' by Depeche Mode. With a lifelong dedication to music, Victor Ruiz is hardworking, talented, and driven by passion.

Inspired by his brother's love for heavy metal, Victor learned to play multiple instruments and joined bands during his formative years. He pursued electronic music production in university, drawing influences from Daft Punk, MTV, and Fruity Loops. As a DJ, he refined his skills through challenging experiences, learning in the field without decks at home.

Victor's profile in Brazil skyrocketed with a big hit, leading to performances at major festivals and venues, connecting him with international selectors. In 2013, his first European tour marked a turning point in his career, exposing him to Europe's progressive club culture. His international profile grew rapidly, eventually leading him to relocate to Berlin in 2018.

Currently, Victor Ruiz travels the world with a busy schedule of gigs, delivering powerful performances that entertain and challenge the dance floor. He has gained a massive global following, captivating audiences with his musical odyssey. Victor's studio work on labels like Drumcode, Noir Music, and Suara showcases his playful attitude and unique sound, influenced by various genres. His music reflects his identity and serves as an invitation to get to know him better.

Still playing the bass guitar, Victor remains deeply passionate about music. He appreciates the simple things in life and approaches his craft with humility. His goal is to inject positive energy into the lives of his listeners, providing them with moments of self-expression, escapism, and catharsis. Another knockout release is in the pipeline, as we bring back the young German producer Soundslogic to the label. Being with us once before, with a superb remix for Nap Till’Nine a few months back, he delivers this weeks original though his lovely melodic ride, “Quiet Run”. With lovely melodic arrangements built up, he for sure delivers a stunning musical ride, that we do feel is something you would like to press the play button for, a lot of times.

On remix, 3 superb names appears as we have the pleasure to open up the remixes though the Japanese star, Ryo Nakamura, a name that we have followed for a long spell, and now he finally makes his debut on PHW. The young Japanese pulls the trigger right from the start, as he bring on his full artillery of sounds and builds a melodic monster for us, through razor-sharp sounds and elements.

2nd up is a welcome return from the friendly Norwegian producer, and one that we always have had high on our radar, K.R.J.

Kent, as his real name is pulls of a slightly more trance inspired production, packed with energy and “feel good vibes”. It has a great groove with a more raw sound design, filled with a lot of exciting elements that we do feel will get your attention and hopefully well deserved support as well. 

Finlands finest returns to PHW yet again, as Markus Hakala took the opportunity to remix this beauty. As always, he delivers in style, as he pull of his great melodic arrangements for us. With wobbly textures, superb basslines and great build up through the breakdown, he once more showcase he is here to stay and we are happy to have him back with us on the label.

A truly nice release with a great mixture of vibrant summer feels and emotions, close your eyes and remember the summer!

From the depths of the Brazilian electronic music scene – specifically São Paulo – emerges a frank and authentic artist. The integrity and certainty when throwing down Victor Ruiz beats makes it easy to know that he’s landed in a DJ booth. They say that his techno sound has finally found it’s more seductive side. “From Brazil with love” read the title of that interview where he caught the attention with his qualities always supporting super fresh sounds, with fewer grooves. From then on he has been compared to artists like Maceo Plex. Over time Victor Ruiz has grown, not only his production skills but also in his sets, a breath of fresh air to the listener.

When he first stepped into a recording studio his first steps were to reinterpret his roots in a more contemporary way. A futuristic tone but at the same time racial, exciting and danceable. In other words, his sound goes straight to your heart, your head and your feet (We need all of them to dance, right?). Thanks to these components over the years he’s been winning over huge swarms of followers. Loyal followers. You can also discover on his social media and exciting tours like his collaboration with visual artist Any Mello .The perfect pair to make us move while we enjoy a visual trip.

If we start talking about his music releases we can highlight his solo works “Clutch” (Octopus), “Nevermind & Red Lights” (Senso Sounds), “Voyage” (Suara), “Brujeria” (Elevate),“Rollercoaster” and “Thunderstorm” both published on Yoshitoshi recordings, “Lucky Strike / Easy Riders” (Herzblut), “Interestellar” (Sprout Music), the EP “Orion/Speed” with K.A.L.IL. or also the EP “Draco/Serpens”, both on Electric Ballroom. Don’t forget about “The Runner” with Christian Smith on Tronic imprint; “Soul Seek” (Sprout), “Midnight Sun” (Heinz) or “Music”, “In between”, “Arise” with D-Nox & Beckers on Sudbeat Music. One of his first ever major bombs was “I look into you”, edited on Sprout Music, a massive hit on the same level as “Medusa Smile” from Konrad Black.

Much closer is this other massive bomb: his vivid tribute for the sadly disappeared Robert Miles, and his of all time classic “Children”. A late night heady techno track, set to trip you out.

His work as an official remixer is also very admirable. MOBY –what a pack he prepared for Suara remixing classics as “Natural Blues” or “Go”–, Oliver Huntemann, Stephan Bodzin , Hatzler, Thomas Schumacher, Olivier Giacomotto, Luzon…Just a few who have required his services. With Oliver Huntemann, the highly respected techno-gentleman from Hamburg, the way they got in touch was very curious, Victor made a bootleg for Oliver’s track “Magnet” a few years ago and the speculation created on social media was insane. Only on Soundcloud the bootleg had more than 240 thousand listens. In fact Senso Sounds –The label Oliver is the owner of- is without a doubt one of Victors new homes. Speaking of homes, Germany is the country that has adopted him as one of their own.
