The Third installment of our Radiant podcast series welcomes Serge Devant. Serge was exposed to electronic music at an early age, influenced by the seminal sounds of Jean Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode, and many others. Equipped with a classical music education, the teenage Devant moved to New York City in the 90s with his family, and instantly fell in love with his new home.

Bremen’s Bebetta is a playful, colorful and charming personality who likes to inject everything she does with a sense of fun. Her goal is to make people happy away from the troubles of every day life. In order to make this happen, she has years of DJing and music collecting experiences, that she calls upon not only in the usual Club or Festival, Bebetta also puts on her pajamas and streams regularly her famous live-session ‘Bebetta In Bed’ around the world. Her considered sound touches on house and tech with a real focus on melody, driving drums and emotional sensitivity and the DJ’s own personality always manages to shine through in the sets she lays down. These standout releases are often full of inventive, off kilter tracks with hooky melodies, lush chords and original ideas a world way from the norm.

Since 2008 she has been doing her thing with a name loosely taken from the English words ‘be better’. It’s all about community, about bringing people of all color and creeds together and about freeing up minds and engaging them on a natural and spiritual level. She pours all her focus into her music, but also into design for her merchandise and the beautiful covers of her musical releases. As such she is a warm and creative soul who simply wants to connect with people in any way she can.

OXIA is one France’s most respected DJs and producers, with a career spanning over twenty years and intensive touring on all continents. He has built an impressive list of remixes and releases on respected imprints such as Kompakt, Hot Creations, 8bit, Knee Deep In Sound, Saved… In addition to his own label Diversions Music.

The Frenchman released his debut album ‘24 Heures’ on Goodlife in 2004 and his second widely acclaimed album ‘Tides Of Mind’ was released in 2012 on Infine. Several collaborations were established as well, with Miss Kittin, Agoria, or Nicolas Masseyeff. With the latter OXIA also launched Diversions Music in 2016, on which he has so far released four EPs.

In 2017, OXIA’s classic hit “Domino” (40 million views on YouTube) was re-released on Sapiens, and came with a number of very successful remixes. In parallel, OXIA himself released a few remixes, notably for Moby (Suara), and others (Moan, Diversions Music).

2018 has been a strong year for OXIA with his “Reset To Zero” EP plus a remix on Diversions and a contribution to Knee Deep in Sound’s Ibiza 2018 Sampler. His touring schedule is taking him across the globe, from the intimate clubs to the festivals, and for the fifth consecutive year, playing for Music On at Amnesia Ibiza.

2019 will see new OXIA releases following, starting with his ‘Second Mood’ EP released in March on Diversions Music.

Despite early sporting success as an NBA basketball star, music has always been Seikaly’s passion. The Lebanese/American DJ and producer has played every major club worldwide and has shared the stage with luminaries such as Marco Carola, Damian Lazarus, Guy Gerber to name a few. Since 2010, he has released on labels including Suara, Saved, Yoshitoshi Recordings and many more. Recently he began his own Stride Records imprint, with a new EP ‘Pursuit’ dropped this year, and continues to run his radio show ‘Sugar Free Radio’, now in its sixth year.

He started Stride at the end of last year as a platform for his own music, tried and tested globally on dancefloors, free from anyone else’s constraints. Stride launched with the ‘Give me Space’ EP including an Audiofly remix, followed by his EP ‘Pursuit’ in 2019. He likes to unearth varying elements and genres and merge them in his own style, rejecting strictly defined genre labels, always staying true to his own music instincts.

This year Seikaly will continue to DJ regularly in some of the most prominent clubs in the world. From massive festivals including Burning Man, Ultra Miami and BPM Festival, to headlining iconic clubs such as Uberhaus (Beirut), Spy Bar (Chicago), Amnesia (Ibiza), Space (Miami), Sound (LA), Scorpios and VOID (Mykonos), Rony has proved himself an extensively talented DJ and producer with a strong following.

His first official gig was at Miami’s Winter Music Conference in 2007, but since the age of 14 Rony had been hosting a club for friends in his parents’ garage. He grew up listening to Frankie Knuckles and Louie Vega, later moving on to Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler and more.

As well as DJing and producing, Seikaly founded his own weekly radio show ‘Sugar Free Radio’ on the biggest satellite radio station in the US, Sirius/XM, playing different sounds to those he chooses for his sets. Firmly established as one of the first underground radio shows on the airwaves in America, the show has now been running for six years, racking up over 200 mixes on Soundcloud.

His goal for future upcoming gigs is to focus on bringing his distinct style of music to clubs that matter to him, continuing to follow a quality-over-quantity approach when picking his shows. From playing timeless sets, his ongoing new project as Stride label boss, creating brilliant productions and building his radio audience too, Rony continues to do what he loves and does best.

From his early years, Fabio has always been immersed in music. His father was a musician and he passed his passion for music onto his son. As these passions grew, so did his preferences and tastes, where he started to lean towards electronic music, and would spend all his money on tapes and vinyls.

Regular visits to Take5, a notable club in Switzerland would follow, where he would take in legends of the scene such as Masters at Work, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Kerri Chandler, Frankie Feliciano, Tiefschwarz, Terry Hunter, Erick Morillo, Harry “ChooChoo“ Romero, and many others.

In 2007, from his base in Switzerland, he bought his first music software and his musical journey started to see its first glimpses of light. In Three years later he started the record label “ShadesAtNight” with a group of friends. They put out standout releases such as Jazzy Shades' (2001 A Space Odyssey EP), Mosvana & Kandi (l’Afrique Electronique EP), Takamaki, and Tekamaki (Tekamaki EP). On a personal level, in 2013 he collaborated with Yass (Defected Records) and Alexandre Destrez (pianist of Saint Germain) to realise one of his dreams when he had started out. They released two tracks on the legendary NYC record label King Street Sounds: 'Z Tribute' and 'Popovka Morning’.

Further releases followed like “Raw Kiss” on miniMarket and “Night Call” on Swiss imprint Hive Audio, before last year his track “Yini’ was released on SABB’s label Radiant, and immediately found success whilst going to #1 in the Beatport charts. It featured three notable remixes from Serge Devant, Frederick Stone and Italian duo Armonica, and was heavily backed by BBC R1 tastemaker Pete Tong, whilst also featured strong support all summer from the likes of Black Coffee. It finished the year by being announced as one of Mixmag’s top 100 tunes.

Fabio has followed that success up with the strong release “ Hideout” on Nervous Records, and has releases to come in early 2020 on Radiant again. An exciting artist with his finger on the pulse and a production career to inspire, be sure to keep an eye on him over the coming months for his next big moves.

Romanian DJ and Producer, Bross runs his activity in Bucharest, the place where, along with a bunch of friends, he created what many call a community, Deep House Bucharest.

With a groovy deep house sound that constantly moves you and a mix of percussions and feeling, you often find him in places united with nature, sharing stories and his love for music.

"The fact that I connect with people not only when I play, but also during the week or most often at parties, giving them energy and preparing them for the moment I’ll mix, helps me have moments full of euphoria and a lot of energy from the audience."

Being driven by the desire to mix and share the sound of Deep Dreaming on an ever-increasing scale, he started his musical production in 2015 with releases to labels such as All Day I Dream, Dream Culture, Crosfade Sounds, ThePurr Music and Magician On Duty. He spends much of his spare time in the studio, trying to perfect his production and sound.

Bross’ involvement in the DHB, organizing events that helped establish a community, has contributed to him finding a place in Cyclic, where he makes his residency at Deep In The Grass events. These events opened the way to other cities in the country, and also gave him the opportunity to mix alongside great artists: Sasha, Lee Burridge, Guy J, Lost Desert, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Yokoo, Death on the Balcony, Mihai Popoviciu, Cid Inc.

Music has always been the driving force of this gifted producer and composer for a bunch of big projects in the past. The son of musicians walked his way towards to a greater musical horizon.
2019 He joined Sabb's record label RADIANT. with his tracks 'Foolish' which became quickly one of the summers biggest track, with massive support from well known names in the industry such as Black Coffee or Nic Fanciulli and has been remixed by one of Industry’s hottest name – OXIA, who took the track into more tech house direction to please crowds around the world.

He has also remixed tracks for Camelphat, Matthias Tanzmann, Davide Squillace & Martin Buttrich together (Better Lost Than Stupid), Eli & Fur, Rony Seikaly and more.

‘Somebody’s Story’ a collaboration. With Sabb has hit the Top 3 Charts on Beatport, and got immense support from the likes of Black Coffee, Blondish, or Sasha to name a few. But that’s not all, his release ‘Journey’ on Nic Fanciulli’s imprint, Saved Records late September 2019 went number #1 in the Beatport charts in less than a week.

Besides this Black Circle has also collaborations with Tech House icon Nic Fanciulli, Circoloco’s resident Matthias Tanzmann, NBA former Rony Seikaly.

One of Australia’s budding new exports, Luke Alessi, is a relative newcomer to the moodier Australian techno scene, but no stranger to creating music that moves dance floors. Luke is quickly making a name for himself with his unique melodic sound that marries the eerie darkness of underground techno with an enchanting storytelling nature. Since the projects inception in late 2018 Luke Alessi has fast become an artist to take note of, receiving praise from leading producers both locally and internationally, spurred by his remix of Lastlings ‘Déjà Vu’ that gained support from the likes of Black Coffee, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Lane 8 and Made in Paris. In 2019 Luke Alessi returned with the stunning ‘Ara’ EP on Made In Paris's imprint Upon Accessm followed by releases on Australian techno tastemakers Motorik and Ugenius Records, which included remixes from Berlin’s Animal Trainer and Sydney’s Doppel. New music saw even more demand in the clubs, with sets at Melbourne’s XE54 and Revolver, and Sydney’s Civic Underground and Good Bar alongside Serge Devant and Hoten. 2020 is setting up to be Luke’s year with releases signed to RADIANT. out of Switzerland (Sabb, Black Circle and OXIA), Oliver Kotetzki’s label a Tribe Called Kotori, California’s Desert Hearts Black and Australian labels Interfonic and All Night Records. There is no shortage of music to come. To support the onslaught of releases, Luke has been booked for debut shows in South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia, as well as taking on support duties with Eelkie Kleijn, Maya Jane Coles, Pan Pot and Made in Paris. Striving to create music that’s designed to take you somewhere else, even if just momentarily, there’s a lot in store for this young Melbourne producer. Stay tuned.
