Belfast based Brian Doran aka DJ Brian.D started out playing records in local pubs and clubs around his hometown in the early nineties. Not one for the limelight, he enjoyed being behind the decks as well as out on the floors. The mid to late 80's was an exciting time and he found himself soaking up the rave culture and discovering a new wave of electronic music. Collecting vinyl records was his main pursuit and then getting the chance to play out in front of up-for-it crowds (sometimes for free) was an added bonus. After the digital revolution and the birth of MP3, he started to create a series of mixes for online, utilising the likes of Soundcloud and Mixcloud among other platforms. A fan of many genres, DJ Brian.D cannot be linked to just one style, he loves it all. Since 2012 he has been copywriting for Bonzai Progressive and through this he has had the chance to meet lots of artists, DJ's and producers from around the world which has broadened his musical taste. Recently he has found a lot of satisfaction listening to and mixing various forms of progressive house, this grabbed the attention of Progressive.Beats radio and a new monthly show called Directions started in December 2017. His sets are designed to create an in-depth listening experience with a focus on harmonics and melodies.

BRCast #18 - EVERNAYA

Live mix consisting of Deep House, Dub Techno, and Deep Minimal. This is a new controller for me, plus new software, and new music. Just going with the flow and only a handful of tracks that have been played before. I had some power issues and the first 30 minutes are unusable because of power spiking and I ended up changing out the laptop charger but the power issue was because of the speaker that I was using to monitor the airwaves and for some reason it was creating spikes and a grounding hum that comes in every so often (there is a reason why I call them Live Test Transmissions). Top night though regardless of the power issue and a total mixing time of 3 hours 32 minutes (3:02 usable).
