Juicebox Music welcomes back the Saint Petersberg (Russia) based artist extraordinaire - Jiminy Hop. Alan Spinoso - Way To The Abyss (Andrés Moris Remix)

Following the massive success of Omniverse, which saw support from some of the biggest names in the scene and reached the Beatport progressive house Top 10, Second Sine returns to Yomo Records with a stunning 3-track EP.

I Was There is a driving progressive gem featuring Andrej's signature sounds including heavy percussion, techy stabs, and atmospheric textures atop an irresistible groove.

Tape Wreck is even more on the techy side of the genre and immediately grabs you with its rolling bassline and cavernous synth stabs. The break with its haunting, complex harmonies allows you to take a little breather before the pounding beats drop back in again.

Within My Heart once again showcases Second Sine's immens production skills. With its lush, almost housey chords and sprinkles of reversed saxophone the track is a deeper affair, yet with enough punch to keep you going on the dancefloor.

Making its annual pilgrimage to the Dutch music capital, Mango Alley provides a virtual tour of sonic highlights that represent the global gathering of Amsterdam Dance Event. Another year of isolation and restricted contact culminates a sonic congregation that showcases emerging and established talents in a melting pot of creativity. Pulsating beats criss-cross the Amsterdam waterways where musical works of art provide a new beginning for autumn's artistic centre.

Roaring to life as knight and day collide in an explosion of sound and colour, a new nirvana emerges. The stars shimmer over the Melkweg and rippling arpeggios take Shelter on the north side before analogue synth motifs find a sweet spot in the Sugarfactory. Finding his groove on Meanwhile with a clutch of impressive productions, Alex O’Rion has been a regular on GMJ and Matter’s best-selling imprint. Reaching a highpoint with May 2020’s “Echium” EP, we now return to O’Rion’s seminal work with remixes from a trio of outstanding artists.

And iconic name within the underground dance industry, Eelko Wijnja has forged a distinctive and innovative sound through his Navar soubriquet. A regular on the likes of Guy J’s Lost & Found, Roger Martinez’s Higher States and Cid Inc.’s Replug, the Dutch star makes his Meanwhile debut with a typically rich and evocative interpretation of “The Chase” that flows gloriously across its near 8-minute journey. Built upon deep kick and rolling arpeggiated synth line, familiar motifs from O’Rion’s original float into sonic range as deeply textured pads and evolving percussive groove wend their way forwards in delicate fashion. An array of sumptuous additional production, courtesy of deep bass and sympathetic new melodies, make their presence felt as the track explodes into the second movement with dancefloor grace. The result is a dynamic interpretation that places Navar at the upper echelons of dance music royalty.

Another familiar name to the Meanwhile cognoscenti, Simos Tagias made an impact via his March 2021 twin-track “Euphoria / Emotion” EP, before September saw a remix of Imran Khan’s “Horizonz”. A veteran of over 400 production credits dating back to a debut for Lynx Records in late 2012, the Greek artist now reworks “Echium” with typical aplomb. Taking the machine-gun hi-hat pattern of the original and a 16th note bass sequence, the meandering melodic themes of O’Rion’s work resonate across a dynamic rhythmic framework. With raw, seething power, Tagias builds intensity that pauses for breath at a haunting breakdown, drenched in reverbs, delays and the stunning motif central to “Echium”, before exploding into the third movement with shimmering effervescence and club-friendly groove.

The final remix sees another Meanwhile favourite enter the fray. An artist who has grown in stature with a slew of releases on the likes of onedotsixtwo, MNL and Proton Music, Sebastian Sellares hit the ground running in April 2021 with his “Dunes at Dawn” EP. This musical triptych showcased the Argentinian’s skill and artistry, while a remix of GMJ’s “Precipice” two months later was another label highlight. Working his production magic on “The Serpent”, Sebastian Sellares has found a way to illuminate the musical phrasing of the original while creating a spotlight that shines on an array of new production material, simultaneously driving the track forward with potent rhythmic force and effortless bassline presence. The result is a searing lead line, rooted in O’Rion’s original, that cuts its way through the second half with acetylene precision, perfectly illustrating Sellares’ sought-after production credentials.

Growing in stature with a trio of towering new remixes from Navar, Simos Tagias and Sebastian Sellares, Alex O’Rion blossoms once again with “Echium”.

Even though Callecat is relatively new to the scene, the Dutch duo have been making a rapid rise to recognition with their continuous high quality output. The maturity of their productions would make you believe they've been around for many years already.

Now returning on Paul Hazendonk's MNL label after last years well received 'Cabin In The Woods' EP and- more recently- their remix for Brann's single 'With No Mask', they delight us with two powerful pieces of progressive house; 'Akrasia' and 'The Alchemist'.

On remix duties we've got industry veterans K Loveski and Namatjira sharing their unique vision on both songs.

Next up, we welcome Simos Tagias to the label with the 'Mantis EP'. 

A prolific producer, Simos Tagias has released with everyone from FSOE and UV to Replug and Mango Alley. Based in northern Greece, he made his breakthrough with Lynx Records a decade ago, and has gone on to create an enviable back catalogue with support across the progressive scene from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Cid Inc.  and more. 

Opening with lead track, 'Mantis', we are quickly swept up in Simos' epic soundscape. Dirty bass and gunshot stabs playfully work against shakers and sidechained pads growing the tension over time. Midway, new synthlines add meat to the bones of this chunky groover before the main break cools things off a touch. 

'Daydreamer' begins apace with gated bass and eerie atmospheres. Dark and moody, the sound design creates powerful mental images as the tracks takes hold. Closing the EP, the tribal rhythms of 'Breath' feel extra funky. Synth washes and sparse percussion give the track acres of space to breathe(!) creating a light breezy vibe. Solid work from one of the scene's unsung heroes.

Following Gregory Esayan's acclaimed "Impressionism" artist album on Arrival, we proudly present two brand new remixes of "Monday Night" and "Pilgrimage," two standout tracks from the release. On remix duties, we enthusiastically welcome back Volant (aka Blend) and Vintage & Morelli, both of whom are distinguished Arrival veterans.

Volant's remix of "Monday Night" starts out with a gorgeous atmosphere, including mesmerizing background synths and the lovely vocal from Ai Takekawa. A strong and energetic groove is soon established, and the soundscape keeps building up with additional textures. Around the 2-minute mark, we witness Ai's vocals in full effect, beautifully accompanied by soothing background arpeggios. Later, an astonishing breakbeat and a truly energetic theme section take over. The unstoppable Vintage & Morelli provides us with his interpretation of "Pilgrimage". The song starts out with a firm groove and a lush atmosphere; soon thereafter, a subtle piano line makes its entrance, and the gorgeous flute from the original lurks in the background. A truly hypnotizing break emerges later, including breathtaking string lines and African-inspired percussion elements and vocal stems.

Gregory Esayan - Pilgrimage (Vintage & Morelli Remix) [Arrival]

Andrew Lang, the Canadian progressive producer returns to us, as he unleash his beauty “Presence Of Life” on PHW. As always he will shine through with his creativity as he built a truly warm and distinct melodic production. With a fantastic breakdown, rolling chords and aggressive bass lines, he once more he proves he is one to watch, absolutely stunning again.

On remix, you will have a full line-up, as Rii, the rising talent from the US debut for us on remix duty. For those who remember, he brought on his “Meridian” original together with us just a few weeks back. Here, he shines once more with his re-take, as he built another groovy progressive ride for us. With heaps of energy he delivers a great rework that we expect that a lot of you out there will enjoy. 

Matt Ether, the producer from Poland makes a first entrance on the label as well, with his killer rework. With cool and energetic melodic lines written, blended with pounding bass chords and driving elements, he delivers what is to be a fine and creative interpretation, that makes us wanting more from him in our house.

Last out on remix duty is another welcome debut on PHW as we have the pleasure to bring on the qualities of Israel and Tel Aviv based producer Rafael Osmo. Being a force on the scene for quite a few years, including releases on Armada, Sorcery, Baroque and so many more, he now join our roster with his creative rework of Andrew Lang’s original idea. With a pumping and aggressive interpretation built, he definitely delivers something really cool to the release. It has a really energetic touch to complete the package!
